Everyone rips of everyone these days. Who is original? I like their music. It's ACDC, but I like ACDC and if it takes a new band to do similar music, I'll listen to it.

No they don't, their is plenty of original bands

by this logic, you're saying ac/dc are shit. not so. but don't make out like i said they were my favourite band, cos that's not true either. in any case, they are a good band.

Everyone tends to have a band that they are heavily influenced by. Some hevier than others. It shouldn't mean they get ridiculed for making the music they want to make.

Who's original? Like I said before, try Cog and Karnivool for starters. You can certainly hear traces of influences in their music, but they don't directly rip anyone off. If you love Acca Dacca, why don't you just listen to Highway to Hell or Back in Black? Listen to the original masters, not the lame-arse carbon copyists who don't do it anywhere near as well....

Karnivool reminds me alot of an early days Tool. I'm sure they listened to them and got ideas from them. There is a bit of Soundgarden in there too. No one is completely original.

Everyone tends to have a band that they are heavily influenced by. Some hevier than others. It shouldn't mean they get ridiculed for making the music they want to make.

Their is a difference between being influenced by a band and just down right plagiarism, you can be original and still have influences

True. It's tough to change your music style though, and Airbourne are doing what they love doing and what's going to make them money. I like the music, even if people think it is a blatant rip-off.

I dont mind them tbh but they've seriously tanked, they should've had a #1 album with the hype they had, it was bigger than what Wolfmother and Jet had before their debut. Embarrassing.

They have not been nearly as hyped as pheonix says, I had only seen two film clips before this. Although in Melbourne may be a different story.

They were signed to a label to record an album before they'd recorded the EP before it for a price bigger than Jet.

And then the label heard the album and dumped them.

They were hyped massively like Wolfmother and Jet were before popular media caught on, they completely dudded themselves of $$$$.
