Ever since Bewick retired,we have struggled to find a smallish goal kicking forward who can play good footy week in week out.We tried Rioli a few years ago and Cupido but it didn't work out.Monfries is there now in the pocket but you would expect him to be playing further up field next year after he puts a few kilos on over summer.

Next season we will get Lloydy back and Johns,Lucas,Hird,Reynolds,Kepler should be able to help him out in the tall forward dept.

If we can bring Akermanis to the club i think he would be that explosive game breaking-bring other forwards into the game-type player we really need at the moment. He can just hang around the forward line all day and if we can get 3 goals a game off him every game.......it could be the missing link we r looking for!

I don't think any one is questioning the value that Aker could bring to us, apart from those that don't like his breaking team rules, it's more about what we have to give up to get him
 
First Camporeale, now Aker.

While we are at it can we draft David Rhys-Jones and Peter Wilson?

I find it difficult to cheer for players who i absolutely hated when they played for opposition teams.

I would never go as far to say I actually like Aker that much but if he could turn it on and kick 30-40 goals for us next year it would help us out heaps...

It would be a gamble but I think he would fit in easy.
He is like an Anthony Mundine...good athlete,champion etc, but they cant put two words together that actually make sense..but boy are they good at what they do!

Forget about how much we hated him when we played the lions a few years ago.
Once he puts on the jumper and plays well that will be forgotten.Look how Sydney Swans fans embraced Lockett after years of hating him when he was at Stkilda!
He is fit,strong and has nothing else to do with his life except play footy.The Essendon culture would do him him good and give him a fresh start for a career that has plenty more to offer.
 
Im very iffy about maybe having to give up a 2nd rounder but damn, Lloyd, Hird, Lucas, Lovett, Johns and Aker in one forward line gets you thinking.

FWIW, there's no player in the AFL I'd continue to hate if they played for the Bombers, if they play for the bombers they play for the bombers
 
Could we end up with both 'Aker' and 'Riska' from Brissy?

I know that anything is possible.. but genuinely.. what would we have to give up for both of them?
 
I think Aker would go well at the bombers, especially with Sheeds, imagine the fun they'd have at press conferences. As for Rischitelli its believed he is close to signing on with Lions, but nothing of a certainty in terms of sources.

On a side note for Aker i'd suspect the Lions would be after your priority pick (or second round if you win one more game) and maybe a player as well. Who would be possibly put forward as a hypothetical?

For me, there's no other player in the AFL I'd continue to hate if they played for the Bombers.

Unlike Campo, with Akka I'd be caught between wanting to cheer him and boo him any and every time he went near the ball :rolleyes:

The missing link between cavemen and modern man, absolutely. Don't think he do much for your team though. You have an established leadership structure, and inserting this egotistical nong won't help one bit.
