Straight out of the Real Estate agent hand-book. A blustering windbag.

I can just see it now.

FOR SALE

Just look at this supreme opportunity!

1 AA quality BP for sale. Currenty located in the best street in town, unable to expand to meet potential without demolition of nearby properties, so looking to relocate to more cost-effective address (STCA). Massive potential awaits the right buyer for this fantastic asset. Still in as new condition, had some recent renovations after an unfortunate incident with a tomahawk, but now better than original. Offers over $350 k already received, but still great buying at this price, do yourself a favour and get in now before the market moves even further.

Anyone want to start the bidding? Anyone......?

whilst hes a good player, who plays a terrific role, hes just not worth that kind f money.

i want to know what other teams would be willing to give up for him. If the eagles/freo were looking at negotiating, what would they be willing to offer?

also imo north could use a good solid 1 on 1 defender, any interest there

Don't think there would be much interest from North, trying to get a good culture around the club of not being all about money.....pass on the mercenaries

This manager is clearly clueless and does not have the best interests of his client at heart. Whilst i am a big fan of Toovs and believe he is an integral part of our best 22, he is essentially a role player of dubious skill. I'm not sure that we would get much for him on the open market and would be prepared to lose him in in PSD if that's what his idiotic manager wants. I think the fact that Toovs has been part of such a good side glosses over the flaws in his game which may not be the case in a side of lesser quality. Would not surprise to see his career and long term earning capacity cut short by making a hasty short term and short sighted decision.

TWR is now reporting that Marinis (or whatever his name is) is not an accredited player agent.

Was Toovey his only "client"?

Pretty amazing news. How this sort of things happens is very surprising.

Would look for an appropriate player in return rather than look at picks.
Wouldn't accept a pick outside of the top 10 for Toovey - and still think we would be on the losing end of the trade with that top 10 pick.

Would think Geelong would look at him. In the right age group and would make them even better.

Would consider a trade for Trent West. We need a replacement for Leigh Brown and with Jolly nearing the end would be a logical choice because he can play that no.2 role for the time being and once Jolly retires West can take over as no.1 ruckman to keep us competitive while Witts+Ceglar are developing.

Salary cap while both are on the edge shouldn't be a big issue for either team in this trade since it's player for player - even though Toovey would be the higher earner.

Geelong can replace West easily enough with Vardy developing well as that no.2 ruck. And Dawson Simpson isn't bad as a future no.1 ruck either.

Probably the closest thing Collingwood could salvage as being close to a win-win. But Geelong would be clear winners and get a near AA defender out of it - which while painful, might be necessary if this contract won't happen.

Wow. Just wow.

Toovey will not be at Collingwood next year. He has put a price on his head that he knows Collingwood can't afford and will look to lower his expectations once he is out of the frame at Collingwood and knows what clubs are interested in his services.

He is as straight line as you can get and doesnt get along with a lot of the players at Collingwood for reasons im sure many can guess.

Care to elaborate?

Pfft.

One of the Pies most popular amongst his teammates. He's a part of the 'beaks'. That said "having a teammate delisted to fit in his salary after most players have taken cuts, wouldn't endear him to his teammates". That said all the players know about Manager speak.

Reportedly: Wants $350,000. Our 1st offer was $250,000. His manager now says we aren't too far away. Lynchhy says 'lowers his expectations'. To what?? Pies offer?? Meh.

If another club is willing to pay him that, then so be it. All the best Toooves and thanks for 2010. His trade value wouldn't be great, especially when a club can snare him in the PSD. GWS would be nice. We'd get a compo pick in the 2nd round for use in 2012 and no more concerns over other players leaving for GWS in 2012.:thumbsu:

Actually, I can't, and suspect your just making crap up.

West for Toovey is no chance Knightmare, wishful thinking on your part.

Completely agree.

Tooves is best 22 for the Pies but that trade "deal" is ludicrous. Nearly as ludicrous as having a non-accredited manager make you look like a right knob to the entire AFL

lol at Hutchy laying into the manager.
Nice guy but... bam!

What club would want him? How funny if he goes to into pre season draft and no one takes him.

If we got anything for him in a trade would be a miracle, pick 90 would be the best we can get for him.
