Has anybody else bought anything from there?
I discovered it a little while ago and thought the prices were quite good so I did a bit of Googling to try and find reviews but couldn't find much in the way of personal experiences, just a lot of people giving advice to be very wary.
I had shopped quite a bit from DHGate, another Chinese site and had had mostly positive experiences so I was willing to give Aliexpress a go.
I thought' I'd share some info on things I have bought so far for any future Googlers or people at BF who were interested.
The first thing I bought was reasonably expensive. It was a Fuji instant polaroid type camera that my girlfriend wanted. Polaroid and Fuji both make the exact same camera, essentially Polaroid bought the design off Fuji and so you can buy it from either an the only difference is the logo. The problem is that the only one that is readily available in Australia is the Polaroid and the best I could find that in Australia was around $140 plus delivery. I ended up buying a Fuji one on Aliexpress for around $80 including delivery.
The camera was exactly as described - brand new in the original retail packaging and was shipped over very quickly. I haven't ordered any film online yet but bought a pack of the polaroid film at the camera shop and the photos are great!
The next thing I got was a cheap MP3 player. It cost me $12 inc shipping and works exactly as you'd expect for a $12 MP3 player from China. Sound quality is fine, manufacturing quality is also fine, though it can be a bit tempremental when charging, if yo ubump it the wron way it'll stop. All around though for what I paid,I'm quite happy with it. The item description was a little confusing though which I'll explain in the third thing I bought.
I also bought a 4gb micro SD card. Also all good although the only reason I bought it was because the description of the MP3 player above was a little confusing (it was obviously translated into english) and I thought it was just a player with no internal memory which required a micro SD card to store the music.
I have received 2 more things I have bought today.
The first one was some CPU thermal compound. I ordered a lot of 5 but when they arrived there was only 2 in the package. I started a dispute and offered to pay for only the 2 I received and asked for a 3/5 refund. I got notification about 2 hours later that the seller accepted and I had been issued my refund. It was a stuff up but they didn't try to keep my money and were prompt to fix it. I'm pretty happy with this one too.
The last thing I have got so far was three shirts that cost me about $13 each inc delivery. I am more than happy with the quality of the shirts, they are nice cotton, look good and really are no different to shirts that you'd be looking at paying $70-80 for in a shop here. The one problem with them is my fault - I am a Small in most aussie sizes and so had a crack at ordering a small on here. Asian small is small - they are all a little too tight for me around the chest and are a bit short. I have some friends though who I'll give them to. I have ordered a couple more in Medium to try.
