No idea who was in from Div 2. Rumour has it there was plenty of politics in the AA selection process. Sad really.

Always is :rolleyes: lots of positioning to include division 2 reps in the team

They seem to have only named 21 players so who is the poor bugger whose been included as an after thought?

I'd assume they'll go with 22 players which means one player didnt get presented his jumper on the day.

was it Nathan or Mitch brown that made all-aus, i read in another thred it was mitch

they havent already selected the side have they???someone fill me in

Take it out of the hands of Recruiting Managers and also selection of the AIS Squad.

Its strange that in Div 2 the NT came second with 2 wins and only gets one AA rep. Tas gets 2 and the NT beat them by 6 goals??? Very disheartening for those boys who have prepared and played hard to win AA selection.

For what it's worth, at half-time in the WA v SA game, I wrote my All-Australian team:

B - Joseph Anderson (NT), Nathan Brown (VC), James Frawley (VC);
HB - Ricky Petterd (QLD), Lachlan Hansen (VC), David Armitage (QLD);
C - Matthew Vasilevski (VM), Bryce Gibbs (SA), Daniel Connors (VC);
HF - Bachar Houli (VM), Mitchell Thorp (TAS), Shaun Grigg (VC);
F - Chris Smith (QLD), Tom Hawkins (VM), Lindsay Thomas (SA);
R - Matthew Leuenberger (WA), Robert Eddy (VC), Leigh Adams (VM);
IC - Nathan Djerkurra (NT), Scott Gumbleton (WA), Daniel O'Keefe (VC), Leroy Jetta (WA).

Not unhappy with the 'actual' team. I was too enamoured with Joe Anderson and Daniel O'Keefe for my own good.
Having to have a player from each side is wrong. Bird was a standout for NSW/ACT, but miles off any of the 22 above. Accordingly, can't see a NSW/ACT player being drafted, save for Ed Wilson as a speculator and maybe Entwistle or Prior - but more likely Sydney Rookies.

Disappointed not to see Vasilevski and Frawley, and don't think Gumbleton played enough at CHF to warrant selection there.

Smith & Thomas were shining lights in their respective forward lines, how at least one didn't get in, is beyond me.

Gumbleton had to get in there somewhere -- he did play both ends. I'm glad to see O'Keefe in there, too. He was very lively, I thought.

It is disgrace that they could not include Bachar Houli he is gun and differently deserves a spot in the All Australian team was differntly one of Vic metro's best players in the championship
