hey guys
Just wondering whether u think travis Cloke is worthy enough for the CHF position in the AA team this year...

There has been talk going around that he should or he shouldnt..

I personally think it will be out of him or Riewoldt....

There hasnt been any other stand outs this year that have consistantly performed than these two guys..

Pavlich has played more closer to goal as has brown and mooney..

cheers

Doesn't seem to matter whether they play closer to goal or not. They are considered CHF's. What position is Franklin playing??

Travis is the man.He is coming along in leaps and bounds.
If he was kicking straight,he would be untouchable,he is a true CHF.
With a full side he will do much damage in the finals.
Yes is in all Australian form,he'll just get better game after game.

AA CHFs have to hurt teams on the scoreboard. He has done everything but this. Unlike Tarrant and Riewoldt he is a true CHF in the old school Carey/Brown/Tredrea sort of model. People love watching those sorts of blokes go round. His hands are the best in the comp ATM, and his tackling at ground level is awesome. It's not too late for AA'07 (ask again mid-September), but if they picked it right now he wouldn't cut it.

Just need to have an OK 1st half of the year and a top 2nd half to make it. Those on the panel dont have a good memory.

If he kicked straight then yes without a doubt especially since roo and brown have had relatively poor years!

dont hold your breath tho, collingwood players dont receive such accolades. no matter how good you are!

If you had of suggested this as a hypothetical at the start of the year you would have been laughed off this site, now? Deserves consideration but not at the moment, who cares anyway as it is the usual media hype that is an excuse to get some money out of a corporate sponsor.

Watching him in the pre season against the Taints thought that if he showed the same strength and agility might go OK, little did I know! If he gets even a little clear will mark and has the ability to bomb over the defence from outside 50 when he needs to. Set shots need work, but ask any team if they want him and they would be throwing first rounders and trade bait like confetti. Single handedly kept us in it Sat IMHO.

Awesome season by Cloke, but he's playing at the most stacked position in the AFL...as it is I imagine there'll be a couple of great, tall forwards named in the pockets/flanks this year. His best bet is the bench, but not this year I don't think. Still, he's 19!

If he continues to develop like he has over the first 15 rounds he's a solid chance.

If it was picked tomorrow, absolutely no chance.

I would think he would need to kick somwhere in the vicinity of 25-30 goals in the last 7 rounds to be AA, which isn't beyond him.

he is a super talent for collingwood but has an exciting future, i doubt he wll make AA this year because his lack of goal kicking power compared to pavlich, reiwoldt or franklin, once he consistantly kicks bags of goals (hopefully soon) then he can really be in contention for AA and im sure he will win multiple AA because he has huge potential and this year is starting to deliver

I read a lot of stuff on the Geelong board last week where they were likening him to Cameron Mooney. I can see the similarities and would love it if he became our version - just without the wiring problems in the brain.

He is not a CHF's ass pimple but Scott Lucas would most likely be selected in AA ahead of Cloke.

Lucas wont be selected for his contested marks, setting up team mates by hand or foot, tackling, chasing, splitting packs or skills on his right side.......but his hanging at the back of packs (like his Melbourne game winning goal), his sometimes selfish left footed bombs and his only real attribure (besides kicking left).....his leading into space.

To be honest as much as it hurts to say i think he would be a super chance. This bloke is going to be one hell of a player.
I think though he may miss out to the likes of Mooney, Riewoldt or Lucas just because you know how the selectors selevate of these sort of blokes.
COllingwoods best chance of AA is Heath Shaw or Tarkyn
