Do we need another Lovett? No.

Our forward line is packed as it is. It's the area with have the most depth in.

We need a CHB and a midfeilder, not more half forwards.

Got anything against Lovett moving further upfield this year?

Dont know if you have seen him or not, but he runs, chases, and kicks goals like Aaron. Apprantly he hadnt applied himself as much as Aaron, but is now 21, and ready to be a good AFL playing imo. Same ages as Aaron when he got drafted by Melbourne.

Would be a extremely good pick up imo. Almost ready made. Give him 5 games to acclimatise to the pace, and he will be set.

at times, he's also dangerous in front of goal, whichever suits the team at the time

Would love for McVeigh to take his place up forward and release Lovett in the middle. His pace and carry is what we need. He'll kick enough goals as it is anyhow. Of course McVeigh going forward rely's on Nash, Slattery,Cole etc to take his spot down back.

i realise this - but hes a gun

i would quite put him in the gun class just yet. he has had one good season, prior to that he was very much mediocre

he will get picked up in the draft no doubt, i dont think we should target him. Maybe if he is stilll available 4th round.

He impresses me more and more each time I see him. His acceleration and control of the ball is unbelievable. I don't think he's the type you'd take too early but if he is still there at pick 30ish then I'd take the lad. Will be interesting to see exactly what number he goes in the draft. If you get the chance, watch the ABC2 replay of today's sanfl 1st semi on tuesday night.

I'd rather McVeigh in the middle and Lovett up forward. McVeigh has more consistent skills around the ground and Lovett is special around goals.

can he still be rookie listed. Its such a risk to tak someone for 2 years, we've had bad luck with shane harvey and marcus pickett surely we wouldnt go down the brother path again. Rookie list him imo

It only took one good year for Aaron Davey to get drafted. IMO better than him at the same age. Saw about 6 games of Aaron at Port Melb and 4 of Alwyn at Port Adel. Alwyn > Aaron for this period of their careers.

No one in our team delivers the ball into the F50 like McVeigh does and as a forward Lovett would be more dangerous, sure Lovett will spend some time in the midfield as he chases damn well but I'd like to see Lovett in the forward line as well hanging around Lloyd, Johns, Hird and Lucas

What?

Who wouldnt want 2 lovetts in the team.

1 in the midfield and the other in the forward line, I'd go gaga over it.

If Alwyn is and plays anything like his brother or Lovett for that matter then I hope we can secure him.

I was pondering the same thing yesterday. I honestly reckon Alwyn can be better than Aaron. With the AFL program of training, preparation - the sky's the limit. The thing's I've seen him do are Aaron-esque! I know it's a massive difference in standard but he looks the goods.

Thankyou Sheeds! I got the number right too! :thumbsu: :)

Not that keen on the pick up thought we already had enough of his type. Would have rather gone with a key defender or typical midfeilder. Ohh well overall im happy with picks but we'll see that again in a couple of years if this was a good draft for us as they are saying.

Good point.lets not all blow our loads too early about all our great picks....except for Gumby;)

well one thing is for sure we should not be accused of ever being slow again and hislop will bring some toughness as will mal michael.

with jetta, lovett, davey, dempsey surely we will be grease lightning which should by the very least help us flood then quickly counter attack.

tell us everything u know about young Alwyn eastaugh when u are online again. In fact, anyone who has got any info about him would be great.

rubbing my hands with glee:) :D :thumbsu:

A good pick up. Wish he had gone to the Crows.

Alwyn improved out of sight this year. Has explosive pace and played best near the end of the year when moved into the midfield. His kicking sometimes goes astray but, when you run that fast, that sometimes happens!

Off the field, he has two of the cutest identical twin boys you will ever see!

Good luck to him. Bomber fans should enjoy watching him play.
