There is an article in todays Herald Sun on Alwyn Davey, the younger brother of Aaron Davey, who is nominating for this years draft.
Although he is 22 he looks like an interesting prospect and would team up nicely with Betts in the forward line and rotating through the guts, he has pace to burn and apparently has displayed great defensive ability in the forward line for South Adelaide as well as kicking 39 goals for the year and finishing top 5 in there B&F.
I think his age and added maturity would be a bonus in terms of this years draft and him and Eddie would never let anyone get out of our forward line with the ball with there pace and tackling ability, well worth a punt with a later pick if still available or even a mid range pick.
Apparantly he was even faster than his brother when they were younger and i am sure with some AFL conditioning could be at least as quick now. A mouth watering prospect the thought of Eddie and Alwyn crumbing and holding in the ball in our forward half, would be a real asset to our team IMO and his extra years on other players in the draft gets him over the line for me as he will definately add immediately to our team output in terms of goals and tackles which we need badly, while still being young enough to give us years of good service.
It also gives Eddie another aboriginal friend to knock around with now that McGrath has been cut loose and gives us another excitement machine to boost our membership drive.
Go the Mosquito Fleet!!!!!!! (Alwyn would fit into this group nicely)
