i remember seeing him kicking a bag in a tac cup grand final a few years back, whats the story behind him,is he had a bad run with injuries?i think he might have played a couple of games, but from his time at sydney, will he be delisted through not taking his chances?

He played 6 games in 2002 and did some nice stuff without really starring.

Late last year he broke his ankle in a non-footy related incident and wasn't able to do any meaningful pre-season training. He did come back briefly in the reserves towards the end of the season but then injured himself again (groin I think) and was out for the rest of the year.

Fitness seemed to be a bit of an issue and as a small forward he's been overtaken spectacularly this season by Adam Schneider. I think he was on a one year contract in 2003 so it's probably touch and go whether he'll survive the cut.

He has talent but not being a KPP he will always struggle to make the team. Sydney have an over-abundance of small-forward-flankers-cum-forward-midfielders. Nicks, McPherson, McVeigh, Davis, Schneider, Sundqvist...

Sunny delisted ??
Swans supporter please explain your source as I find that sort of speculative information very disturbing.

Agreed! He's gone home at the moment for a visit but as of b&f night he had plans to return for his footy in a couple of weeks! I think there are quite a few ahead of him on the delistment stakes, and given that we're not planning on picking many up in trade or draft, I can't see him off the list for 2004.

Kevin Sheedy was interested in Buchanan before he was drafted by the swans so who knows. Ezra Poyas played well in a tAC cup granny once to but look at him now.

Not so sure I agree with you there SS - he hasn't had the opportunities you get the impression Roosey would like to have given him, but given the mant feet already well and truly in the door. If roosey's serious about rebuilding with current stocks i get the impression he'll be around a while longer yet.

Sunny is well and truly part of our future plans. He's one of half a dozen or so players who I expect to really stake a claim on the top 22 next year - the others are Powell, McViegh, Ablett (if those two stay), Thewlis and Malceski.

Rest assured, with these kids knocking on the door, the Swans are in good shape.
