What is it with this country not being able to produce an R rating for games so older gamers like myself (28), can enjoy mindless violence??

I picked up Turok for 360 last night (thankyou Mancey for your review, I love it) and it has some pretty brutal death scenes in it but thats released with no problems.

Anyone in the know here? Why cant we get an R classified rating?

I like the simple thinking, if you dont want your kid playing it dont buy it, but dont penalise the rest of us.

The censor board don't seem to mind when you shoot a guy in the head, and blood sprays against the wall behind him.

But blow or cut a guys arm off and you'll get an instant ban. Same thing has happened here as with soldier of fortune.

Seems pretty silly. But until we get that R rating nothing will change. God knows why we don't have one. Maybe they think the interactive nature of gaming will mess with our minds more than seeing it in a movie, and cause us to go out dismembering people willy nilly.
