Played for NSW/ACT and was invited to the state screening. Hodgson Got more possesions than Clarke in the final game of nationals against Tassie.

Probably the hardest working player in division 2, has a good kick, and reads the game pretty well.

Does anyone know anything.....or have any comments?

He's a good player, I thought he might have been looked at last year. Doesn't really impose himself enough on games and is quite unobtrusive. Tidy skills but not really anything more than a solid performer. Probably one of the guys looking at the Swans rookie list. Being an older junior (Jan 86) will count against him because he is effectively a year older than most of the guys he played against and so SHOULD be dominant.

Is a few months such a big deal weaver, as his body size dose not reflect his being a little older than other players.

I agree he is not match turner, but you need consistant players aswell as your match turners. I think he will definatly get on a rookie list, but i am interested how he has been overlooked.

Why would recruiters look over players who are incredibly consistant...and just absolute ball magnets, not to mention tackling hard etc. There are many afl players like this who are highly respected.

Do you think they would have been match turners in underage football?

Something to ponder

It is not about body size. It is about the fact that he in some cases had 18 months more experience. In his 2nd carnival he would have been expected to outperform guys in their first.

Not so much overlooked as a midfielder. There are 50 or more midfielders who you could make a case for. The competition is fierce. In contrast there are only a handful of key position players and ruckman. The laws of supply and demand basically mean that the ho-hum midfielders are not draft-day priorities.

World of difference between being consistant in NSW football and Div 2 of a carnival and being consistant in the AFL.

In most cases yes.

give me Jordan Wood any day. The best fot skills in the TAC cup

I've been very surprised by the lack of interest in this kid.

Runner-Up in the Morrish Medal and winner of the Murray Bushrangers Best and Fairest and he's not going to be drafted.

Doesn't make sense. Jordan Wood is a really talented footballer!!!

Your spot on Skilledfan. He is worth drafting just to have him kick out but he is the wrong "Body-Shape" isn't he.

As you say "wrong body-shape" - or not tall enough for a KPP but I would have thought his skills and footy smarts together with his leadership skills would have been enough 'bait' for a Club.

Hope he turns out to be a 'Smokey'.

Without question I'd have him on the Geelong Rookie list too!!
