He answered Jars criticism in the best possible way with a return of Macca magic.

He was the match-winner.

Was obviously the match winner, but still plenty of room for improvement IMO. Was pretty much unsighted in the second quarter and didn't do a whole lot in the third. I had Stiffy ahead of him in my votes.

But definately much, much better than last week, now hopefully he can get some consistency in his game and kick it up a few notches to get back to the Andrew McLeod we expect.

There were better players IMO SS.
I was going to say Clement was better, but I thought I'd get bashed for trolling. :o

Goodwin, Ricciuto, Johncock and Mattner were all exuberant and potent for the Crows, but didn't have the touch of class, nor as much as an impact as McLeod did. Though, I suppose, they all played different roles.

Still thought he was best on ground. Well, certainly best for the Crows.

he did nothing in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, how can he be the best for us?

If it wasnt for his last quarter goal there wouldnt be that much hype. Stiffy, Edwards and goodwin were the best easy i thought. Clement doing a defensive job on welsh cant get him BOG i dont think, didnt give much rebound.

Again if someone rammed the footy down your gullet as much as the pies did to the stiff one, then you also could be a stand out.

As they say in cricket, batsmen save matches, bowlers win them.
So using the same annalogy, back men save matches, goal kickers win them.

Lets see if he can make it two games in a row, as next week will be a lot harder contest against the ferals.

I am hoping he can, but one of his major flaws in the last two seasons has been lack of consistancy, so only time will tell

Brilliant Game, BOG by far
Well not that far.. there were a few Collingwood playersthat were good. Ben Johnson 32 possies, Licuria 35 possies, Clement, and Carracella 20 possies or so and 4 goals 4 behinds

nah welshy was a focal point, and clement was his opponent, and killed him. Big difference to stiffy, who did an ok job on davis, but then mopped up beautifully reading the ball off the packs and good providing rebound. Edwards and goodwin were better than him i think. Thats true, good forwards win matches, especially big ones.

McLeod was absolutely superb. As I said yesterday, as far as the ability to win the game in pure terms goes, Macca's performance reminded me of Ricciuto's gamebreaking dominance that saw us beat Carlton at Optus Oval against all odds back in 2001 - except minus the rain and gratuitous violence.

Here I go again. Whilst I clearly see the value of Maccas game I think you are really stretching it to say that it was the Macca of old. The fact is that he was bloody quiet for two quarters while Collingwood were gradually snatching the game from us. To me Macca clearly avoids being part of the physical stuff and relys on picking up his poseessions in free space these days (much as Blake Caracella does). Sure his disposal is such that it does a lot of damage, but the Macca of old used to earn much harder posessions than he did yesterday.
Just going to grab my helmet and flack jacket again.

I hope he plays up forward.

And I hope our forwards can make a contest this week.

With our lack of crumbers and goalscoring ability, we'll need Macca up there for significant periods to kick a winning score.
