Andrew Raines will be our starting centre in years to come.

The only reason he gets criticised on this board, is because when he gets the job on Nick Riewoldt he gets owned.

Big Surprise?

coga,

do u think he wil be in our best 22 and possible trade bait?.... and if so why?

man all i am saying is that if things dont change dramatically from what he produced this year, then if he is kept on then he will be a liability. If he is a liability then me thinks TW dont like liablities. ;)

Raines doesn't have the best skills or awarness, and he did get pasted up a few times this year (motlop, riewoldt, erbert) however I really don't think he season was as poor as its made out to be.

This year we lost Gasper and Kellaway, meaning that Raines had to take the 2nd tall when McGuane was out of the team as Polak was playing loose. Rainesy has plenty of heart and will be in our best 22 next year, he just needs to work on his awarness and disposal

man, it aint about who he had to stand, its all about all the shit that was happening when he was on his own with the ball and in the clear that is in question here. FFS, you first suggest Raines doesn't have the best skills or awarness, then you suggest, I really don't think he season was as poor as its made out to be, because he had to stand the 2nd tall? Like that means absoltutely shit in the context of the Raines debate. The debate is all about him not having the best skills or awareness and us having Raineses in our team for the last 20 years. ;)

i 've got a soft spot for rainesy because he has heart, but unfortunately his skills and awareness are sub-par, just makes the wrong decision too many times

would be a tall ask to get a suitable trade for him though, not sure who would want him.

Rainsy was played out of position for most of the year.I agree that he has to improve his awareness, once Moore/Mcguane/Thursfield put in a good pre season and put on 10kg,Rainsy will play as an attacking defender with some time in the middle :D

you are all idiots he will be fine for us, has plenty to offer the team you need to remember he has played 51 games is only 21 was runner up in the rising star and is our 5th best ranked player expect to see big improvements over the next few years

He won't be our starting centre any time soon. Did you see him against Geelong when he started in the guts. He was just flicked aside and of course we all know they flogged us by 26 goals. Not Rainseys fault alone but he just aint big enough to play onball. I hope I wrong but.... Even before the bounce that fateful Sunday night I noticed the Cats mids were huge bodied by comparison - I could see this from miles away standing in the outer.

send him to Westcoast

The Cats having Ottens and King vs some kid called Pattison and Tuck kinda helped their midfield out a little too. Size doesnt matter when you cant get the ball.

That night against Geelong, yes - for sure, couldn't agree more...but he's not strong enough to play in the guts....on the wing maybe but that's all I can see for him.

ONWARD AND UPWARD TIGES!!!

Garbage, half our side is still skinny. Rainsey will bulk up like the rest of our side.

Garbage eh? - Our opinions seem to differ then.
You must be delighted to have a fully functioning crystal ball mate.
You may want to loan it to Terry as I'm sure he'd find it very useful...

You say that Andrew Raines is skinny and underdeveloped, half our side is.

Brett Deledio, Richard Tambling, Dean Polo, Will Thursfield, Luke McGuane, Jack Riewoldt etc.

Andrew will put on weight just like the rest of them, and be much better for it.

I don't need that crystal ball to know this much - we both love our club!

GO TIGERS!!!
