Andrew Walker

Hello.

I wondered if anybody had seen Andrew Walker play yet and if so how did he go?

I know it's pre-season and all but any info that isn't filtered through the spin docors would be greatly appreciated.

FYI - I'm not a Carlton fan but I have some interest in this player.

He played in a VFL praccy yesterday......did some nice things, nearly brought down an absolute screamer (mitchell wasnt too happy about him flying for big marks)

just needs to get match fit and im sure pagan will ease him into the 1's

Off the bench rotating through the middle or half-back?

I will have to return on a regular basis to keep an eye on Andrews progress.

I remember he came to Carlton with an injury.
Was his running ok? I suppose he must be ok if he's attempting screamers!

More importantly was he running to position, getting in under, disposing of the ball well? You know that sort of stuff...

Anyway, it's good to know he's coming along.

Bingo.

His knee is fine but he did roll his ankle on tuesday at training. It was still swollen after Saturdays game but he ran the game out well. As Micheal said, once he gets his fitness up he will be looking at a game in the Seniors. Missing pre-season with the knee cleanup has held him back a tad. I think he is trying to hard at the moment to do everything and be everywhere. At times he actually ends up running himself out of position.

Can't fault his work ethic on the track or on game day.

I suspect he will play on the wing and be told to run the lines and carry the ball as far as he can from half back to half forward.

Considering he ran a 10.29 min around the 3.2km track around Optus Oval about a month ago which was one of our fastest ever times I'd say he's running fine

Glad to hear it.

It's good that he is under Pagan. He will steer that enthusiasm in the right direction. I expect that his rapid rise to prominence would have something to do with this trend.
