Never a doubt he would return. Plenty on maturity too in the way he approached JJ after his missed shot. Hope it silences his doubters too that his attitude needs readjusting :thumbsu:

Palyed in the right position by the coach too.

On today's performance it seems that he has adjusted his attitude.
Would still liked him to take that mark however!

Great game. Got my 3 votes. Showed more leadership today than our stand-in captain has all year.

I started the thread...

I didn't see Andrew Lovett play in the one position though.

At least he wasn't played in the wrong position like last week as we know.

Do you think that today's performance might have been a reflection on what he learnt last week?

No, he didn't learn anything last week. He knows how to play, don't confuse the guy like Bradley, who is in total limbo imo.

Looked by far the most dangerous man on the field today, great player and I think he is growing into a great leader for your club on the field.

Bad luck today guys, man I was cheering hard for you. Certainly gave the Saints a scare.

Your young guys are really starting to shine with the experience they are getting.

All the best.

P.S. Hands off Rischitelli.

P.S.S. I also forgot to mention that you got absolutely crucified by the umps today, that deliberate call on Lovett was a disgrace.

Would it be impossible to believe that perhaps he learnt by playing back last week that he actually has to be responsible for an opponent at times. That he can't always be offensively minded.

That he has to work hard both ways and that he can't think purely about his own game.

He's played every game, bar one forward of the middle this year. Yet he comes back the week after spending time down back motivated, showed leadership and worked incredibly hard.

The last time Lovett spent time in the backline from memory was against Gary Ablett. That was round four last year, guess what happened the following week.

Food for thought....

Longy, its not that serious an issue- we had a good go today, we will win next week and Lovett looks keen again no matter where they play him in future and that is excellent for the EFC.

So basically he has the memory of a goldfish...

To me Andy, like many of the other young fellas, finally got some momentum today. It is easier to play your natural game when you're in the lead, and although a few of the risks didn't pay off it was certainly more exciting footy. Don't know if I'd call patting JJ on the back "leadership", just the action of someone who knows that the two of them had given it their full 110%, despite the outcome.
