Retiring at seasons end

Feel he could have been a much better player had he not had two ACL injuries. Unlucky career.

Best of luck for the future Andy

One of my favourites. A real class act on and off field, and was one of the very few senior players who took an interest in the younger guys in the SANFL. Very unselfish.

All the best for the future Andy.

Yep. You never heard from Andy about how he deserved to be in the AFL side because he's a senior player.

He epitomized a team first approach and he retired at the right time. Massive kudos.

Was an absolute gun on the rise before the knee injuries robbed him of reaching anywhere near his true potential .
Great club man !! Wish him all the best post playing career .

A shame his career never lived up to the promise. Finishing second in the Rising Star award he could have been anything. Very high footy IQ.

Great that he got to 100 games. With two years out of the game not an easy feat.

Absolute class guy and so unlucky with injury. Father time waits for no one but as far as I am concerned Andy was a really good player and person to have at the club - even at the end in his mentoring role in the SANFL for most of this year. All the best on your future

Thanks Andy. I don't think we saw his best due to injury and has made the right call.

Now, the big question is whether he will be a development coach or into player welfare at the club

Full respect to Otto. Take away his injuries and he probably goes on to A)play an additional 100-150 games and b) be a lot more dynamic and mobile.

Remember this is a bloke who finished 2nd in the rising star in 2009, some of the other guys nominated that year?
Taylor Walker, Patrick Dangerfield, Daniel Rich (winner), Dayne Beams, Stephen Hill, Callan Ward, David Zaharakis, Jarryn Geary, Jack Ziebell..

He has also always seemed like a ripping bloke. Should make a good coach I reckon.

Wowsers. One minute he is competing for that Rising Star. You blink and he has retired. The life as a footy player is short and was made shorter by his injuries. Feel for the bloke because those injuries probably slowed him down in the end. I wish him luck in the future. Once you don the Red Blue and Yellow, you will always be a Crow in my eyes

All the best for the future Andy. I agree he will make a good coach.

He is one player I am a bit sad to see go, as he has been a good servant to the club, especially at SANFL level in the last few seasons. He never needed to bring attention to himself either which I liked. Credit to him also for making the decision himself.

Could've been anything if not for the injuries. Had an epic 2009 and rightfully went very close to winning the Rising Star. Should have been the Semi Final hero too if not for Rutten longingly groping Alien Head Jack Anthony's arm.

It might not have been the most decorated career but the time is right to move on. Team first from day 1 to the very end, great team man. Onya Andy.
