In terms of spinning greats, where does he stand in the opinions of forum members here?
 
Certainly Top 10 all-time.

Let's see who's better (remembering the distinction between spin, seam and swing gets a little blurred when talking pre WW1, so I'll just stick to since 1920).

Definitely better - Murali (hey, he's legal say the ICC), Warne, O'Reilly, Saqlain (I'm a fan), - that's probably it.

So, for me, he's in that next level with Grimmett, Underwood, Prasanna, Gibbs, Bedi, Verity, Chandra, Qadir, Laker, Tayfield. Bloody good.

Geez, Harbajhan and Vettori stiff to miss your list. 4th and 5th highest wicket takers as spinners in history. TBF though, every player on the 2nd tier is before my time so I can only judge on stats. From all reports though, Qadir was a genius.

I do like your call on Saqlain though. He is the guy that made me an off spinner.
