All the metal heads on here im asking about Annihilator.

Having watched the road runner united dvd and hear Jeff Waters destroy some of the riffs and solos ive decided to check them out. Are they any good? What would be the best album purchase wise, and what other band would you compare them to.

first two albums are considered classics:

• alice in hell
• never neverland

after that they've been really hit and miss - maybe a couple of good songs per album, but nothing too special unfortunately.

to put things in perspective, alice in hell was the largest selling album for roadrunner records for a long long time.

it's pretty old school thrashy kinda stuff, but you're right, jeff waters is an absolutely shredding guitarist.

I've heard some of their older stuff and it's not too bad. A bit 'camp' metal at times, but interesting. Stuff like Road to Ruin, King of the Kill and and stuff aint bad. I hear drum god Mike Mangini recorded their last album, so it couldn't be half bad
