I read today that the brother of Andy Otten was impressive for VIC Metro. Do you think we should endeavour to secure a player like this if available at later pick. My only concern is that if he has a brother playing AFL for VIC club Andy would more than likely want to go back and play with him one day.

We didn't select Joel Tippett just because he was Kurt's brother and we're not going to select Andy Otten's brother for that reason either. Otten Jnr will be drafted on his own merits alone - if he's good enough then he'll get drafted, if not then he'll miss out. It's that simple.

Play exactly the same as Andy only with a left foot.

This board would melt down if we take another utility. That being said, he's a brilliant read of the footy and a real general in defense (played a lot more junios in defense than Andy did, maybe the coaches saw Andy doing so well and thought they'd try him out).

He's very attacking, while knowing when to lleave his man.

I think he's too tall for what we're after, and one team may reach based on Andy's success.

Yes. Surnames are the top of our drafting/recruiting criteria.

For this reason, I think we should trade for Scott Thompson from North Melbourne.

I think the board would melt down if we used our early picks on utilities instead of mids and the like. But if we take him third/fourth pick after taking the rest as mids then it wouldn't cause a problem with most rational BF posters (that's almost an oxymoron).

This is presuming he is the best available pick
