hes been around for a while, i dont know much about him, i seem to recall that he was branded as the next sumich, so he must have been very talented, what happened?
anyone see him going anywhere, i find it disapointing that he isnt performing, hes 21 or so.... cousins is 22 and look what hes achevied, ok not everyone is cousins, but hard work = rewards, Antonavitz = almost gone

Yeah he doesnt impress me at all. Hasnt been given a lot of chances but from what ive seen hasnt been impressive. Same as Haynes, nothing he has done has set the world on fire.

I asked about Antonowicz on another thread. The guy debuted with Read who is now up to ~60 senior games. He just doesn't look like he's going to make it in the AFL.

carneagles

From what I remember, he was drafted over from Victoria in 1998 as an 18 year old. He spent his first year in Perth at school and playing reserves footy for Subiaco. The following year he went accross to Claremont and played a few senior games there - he still wasn't ready to play AFL footy. Then last year he went over to East Perth under the host club agreement and played a few solid games there as full back. He was given a few chances in the AFL but hasn't really adjusted to the tempo of the game.

I know he would of been considered as a possible 'delisted player' last year along with Wooden, but the club has taken a punt on both players, this year is a make or break for their playing careers!

Yeah, agree. Did Antonowicz play in the Westar GF?

Geez, Josh Wooden ... I used to think he was the Troy Ugle of the New Millennium (got games for no understandable reason) but he's actually looked OK on a couple of occasions in the last year or so. Maybe he'll crack it as a regular this year.

Carneagles

carneagles - fairly sure both players played for East Perth in the GF. Callum Chambers also played and had a good game there.

Make or break for Chambers this year too?

Not enough progress for a player of his age, just seems unable to make the jump from WAFL to AFL....

Agree with Tona, let him go unless he suddenly stars this year, but Wooden Im not so sure...

All three of them are borderline. When you see kids like Humm, Kerr, Glass, Green and others come in and do well straight off you wonder why we labour with these others?

Although Wirrpunda had a few shaky years before turning into the star he is.

Yeah, but wirra was 16 when he came to a club boasting players like roo, kemp, white, heady, lewis, worsfold, mckenna, jakovich, banfield, mcintosh, hart, evans, etc.

So there is absolutely no comparison.
