thats pretty pathetic, boycotting the game.
what good is it going to do?
agree all it does is annoys people that actually want to go but can't due to 'sold out' tickets. If you want to boycott the games, withdraw your membership from the footy club, and give a bronze member a shot at a season ticket.

If I could go to a game today after a big noght out that ended at 6am and a lot of booze consumed why wouldn't you. Boycotting games is a ******** poor excuse. I might not agree with a few things AFC have done but I will support them no matter what. If I can't go to the game I won't but I will never boycott a game of footy.

in a perfect world us bronze members would have a season ticket instead of these spanners who have them, yet don't even show up to the game!

Ah the old paradox.

Disenfranchised members who have been there for ages wish to show their disapproval by doing the only thing they can - voting with their feet - get p1ssed on and told to give their tickets in so a pack of johnny-cum-latelys who only wanted a season ticket after the two Premierships can get their bandwagoning hands on one.

If they're so desperate to watch the footy they should queue up for a bloody day ticket.

7am-er here. ;) Sunnies were a great help at the match today.
Yeah, Stiffy is a bit slack, as a lack of sleep has never stopped me from attending a game. ;)

DT do you have a grudge against every new person here or any new supporter of the crows?
I have supported the Crows since they began, but I dont feel I am any better than any new supporters.
So what if they have not been around as long as yourself, the club will only survive with new supporters so why knock em?

No. What gives you that idea? If you could cite examples it would be helpful.

Who exactly am I knocking here? I suggest you read my earlier post again - this time a shade more carefully.

Whats wrong with new fans wanting to get a season ticket? Im not bagging old supporters and all that I never have and never will, they are what made the club it is now but Im not trying to knock the new supporters either.
I may have got what you said totally wrong but thats the impression I got from your comments.

Stiffy was there. He was not going to pass up the opportunity to see a rare occasion this year and thats a win. I must admit invitation to coorporate box was also a great temptation:p

I see nothing wrong with an existing season ticket holder/member such as relapse protesting the boondoggle that was the appointment of Neil Craig by not attending a given game(s).

Furthermore, he has also had the courage to publicise his controversial choice of stand on these forums, and all power to him. What I dislike (and this is only my own personal opinion, if you disagree that's your prerogative) is the cliched responses of "fine then, bugger off and hand your tickets in so those on the waiting list can have them."

The obvious question this raises is, what gives those on the waiting list a greater entitlement to those season tickets than an existing member such as relapse who has had the courage to make a protest and publicise it? Those on the waiting list in 2004 are there for a reason - they have either taken the belated decision to acquire AFC season tickets or they have not renewed their tickets in seasons past and have realised that decision was a bloody stupid thing to do. It's called a 'waiting list' for a reason - they can wait until their desired number of tickets comes up.

Relapse would have seen his fair share of thick and a hell of a lot of thin - they're his tickets and he has every right to use them as he sees fit within the rules and conditions laid down by the Adelaide Football Club. There is nothing that says he cannot attend games by choice - if he chooses to hand in his tickets at the end of the season then fine, those at the top of the queue on the waiting list can have them.

Sorry Stiffy, I mis-read your previous post.

I should never have doubted you! :)

My opinion on the coaching situation is known, but it comes from an outsiders perspective.

It is up to the AFC selection committee, who are privy to far more details than us, to make the informed decision. TWT if they were correct. We have voiced our opinions now it's time to move on to other topics.

Any talk of boycotting is is infantile.

This is football we're talking about, not the state of the nation

As long as you can remember the details.

You wouldn't have enjoyed the box as much given events of last night? ;)

I agree with you to a point.

Craig was not my 1st or 2nd choice as coach, nor was I happy with the transparency of the process.

For the club to be annoyed with me and many others for having doubts is back to front. If there was a genuine process, then they should be looking inwards and examining just what was wrong with the way that the process came through publicly, because it's unarguable that as a public relations exercise, it was one of the all-time great disasters.

As one small voice, I did everything in my power, which is limited, to let the club know that there were many of us who had a perception that it was a flawed process, be that correct or not.

Having said all of the above, Craig has been appointed as coach for the next 3 years, whether we like it or not. The one thing that the AFC, Craig and all of us supporters do have in common is that we all want the club to be successful.

What each individual does from here on in is totally up to them and will differ from person to person. There is no right or wrong.

Personally, although reluctantly, I'll give Craig my support, because he now is the coach of the team that I love.

If it all goes pear-shaped and Craig fails, THEN we all should be protesting and demanding several resignations.
