Correct, with or without Robert Shirley – the results this year would be the same.

I would have given cooky the tagging job on Juddy. He has the pace to keep up with him and would have definately been a learning experience about how hard you need to work to be a top player.

As for the results so far...I am now putting on my most positive outlook

Freo - better than anyone gave them credit
Sydney - in for another good year
Melb - lost to Pies by 1 pt - injuries cost Crows that game - Pies then thrash Hawks.
Carlton - kick straight and ya got yourself a game.

So you would have given up on your original game plan, one quarter into the season when a 1st gamer was ripping us to pieces?

Hypothetically Robert Shirley was playing – wouldn’t he have gone to Hasleby first and if was keeping his out of the game, no way would that move be made.

But that’s the point, i think people respect NC conviction to stand his ground but making a move after one quarter is just as bad as not making one for 10 weeks. Need to find that happy medium.
