Thought it was too early to start a round 5 discussion thread and didn't want to move in on Spud's territory. Regardless, the biggest decision for me on Wednesday is whether to make Watson or Swan vice captain. Watson a solid contributor or Swan who is starting to heat up.

What's this VC/CAPT loophole everyone is talking about?

Play a player who isn't playing as captain, make a Collingwood or Essendon player vice captain. If your vice spuds it up, switch the captaincy to your normal player and swap him out for someone who is playing. If your vice gets a score worthy of captaincy, then keep your donut on the field to be replaced by an emergency.

Eg: Pendlebury vice captain, Clay Smith captain (assuming he doesn't play), McDonald midfield emergency. If Pendles gets a score (say, 125-130+) worthy of captaincy, I leave Smith on as captain, McDonald replaces him, Pendles becomes the captain. If Pendles plays poorly, swap Smith out for McDonald and make someone completely different captain.

So if an emerg replaces your captain are you sure the emerg won't become captain?

Only other downside is you run the risk of not having an emergency should another platey be a late change, as your already are using your emergency to replace a player you know won't play.

I have 608K in the kitty to bring in a Mid. Probably gonna bring in Stanton. Pie's dont really have a tagger, so he could run rampent again.

Ryder would prob be the best choice if you have him in your team. He should be able to jump all over jolly and if Essendon are gonna win he'll be a big reason why

Chances of Dempsey being named after not even being in the emergencies? A bit of foxing from Hird or will he genuinely not play?

He's been a shocker for me... Traded him in for Broughton and that game he went down with injury and scored six points... Now this will be his 2nd game out if he doesn't play which is a lot of money in the kitty and on the bench doing nothing...
