Are We Boring?

Over here I've been well pleased to see that we've won our first 3 games but then on the main board I saw the thread saying that Hawthorn are boring which pissed me off to say the least is it just sour grapes or are Hawthorn playing a negative style-I noticed that we've been conceding low scores but haven't really been piling on the big scores ourselves but I would have thought that early victories over Carlton & collingwood & away to Freo should have been enough to please any club.

In a word, no. But id be the first to admit in the Judge era, we were shockers to watch.

The three games so far have been
Woods game. Opening game of the year, neither side played particuarly well and the first round game is normally a bit scrappy anyway.

Blues game. Excellent game, terrific run, smooth movement through the halfback-midfield. Some terrific high marking, solid contesting good game to watch.

Dockers game. Played in 30deg heat, neither team went flat out for the whole game (would have tanked it they had) poor foot disposal from both sides, but could be excused given the conditions.

So the wrap? Maybe they havent been outstaniding displays but they have been WINNING ones. And they are never boring.

My opinion is we're winning - how boring is that?

Quite frankly I don't care. If you ask me watching Essendon win every match last year was boring, same as watching the Aussie's win every cricket match over the summer was boring.

There's 8 matches on every weekend, if people think we're boring, go pick another match to watch - simple!

Boring? No way. Moving the ball out of the backline, we look fantastic. Even if we break down in the 50 arc sometimes.

This week I think we'll see our first four quarter effort for the year. We match up very well against them, and if the pre-season game is any indication, our tall forward line should trouble them all afternoon long. Go Hawkers!!

Yrp, Bored to tears again at the weekend.

The nerd sitting in front of me was more entertaining - shouting out 'Fake Brownlow Medalist whenever Crawf got the ball.

Typically though he left before the 10 minute mark of the last quarter. I suppose he'll be an essendon famn next week.
