My Netgear router isn't working but my modem is :/

When i connect my modem to the router which connects to the PC it doesnt work.

But when i connect modem to the PC my internet works
I need it as other things around the house need the internet

Do i just reset/restart the router with the instruction with the CD?

help will be appreciated!

Correct, pull the power and give it a 30 seconds then back on

I have found Nicko from past experience that getting a Modem/Router instead of one of each eliminates a lot of variables!!

Get yourself a decent modem/router and get rid of the two system setup you have.

Much simpler in the long run :thumbsu:

You need to put your Router on a the same IP address range as your Modem.

Make your modem 192.168.0.1, your router 192.168.0.2, and then make the gateway on the router as 192.168.0.1.

Then change your router to issue out ip's from 192.168.0.3 and above.

If it doesn't work automatically, then go to the IPv4 props and set your ip address's manually.
EG:/
PC 1
IP -192.168.0.3
Subnet Mask -255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.0.2
PC 2
IP -192.168.0.4
Subnet Mask -255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.0.2

That way the PC's will connect to the router which will connect to the modem to get the net.
