By the time it happens, I reckon Arrow will have long since jumped the shark but having said that I don't really mind the idea and definitely think Diggle could make a good John Stewart if the writing was up for it.

Reading the comments on the IGN article it seems a lot of people don't think so.

Maybe not but I would of thought flying was the biggest problem, other than that a lot it probably wouldn't be a lot harder than what's being done on The Flash. And seeing as they wouldn't want to overpower Oliver, and the show has so far toned down the powers they could always try for a GL on leaner plates, minimise the flying and slowly power him up?

Like I said it'd most likely be an absolute disaster but imo the character and actor behind Diggle wouldn't be the weak link.



Admittedly Roy's one special effects assisted jump off a truck a few episodes ago does leave me skeptical :rolleyes:

Interestingly, I think the show is actually in danger of being dropped by NBC (the network it appears on in the US). Some have suggested it could go to the SyFy channel (think also owned by NBC) or maybe another network would pick it up?

Also, on Deathstroke (eye patch guy), I think you should keep watching - lots of rumours he's going to return...(the show definitely could use his presence and on screen bad assery to give it a bit of a boost!).


Interesting about Diggle potentially being the GL - I thought the Flash would struggle to look 'good' with a low budget, CW network TV show budget but has really impressed me with how they've done their CGI stuff. Perhaps the same folks could help with a possible GL show down the track.

Last week's ep was definitely pretty meh but I think they are just setting things in motion. Historically (seasons 1 and 2) the first half of the seasons have been a bit slow but they usually pick up quite a bit in the second half.
 
I wonder what changed, they was talk of this in S1 before they shut it down, and then DC introduced Diggle into the Green Arrow comic series.

If they do it will mean there is no chance for Stewart to be the GL in the movie series. I hope they dont do it. i cant see it going well.

Just replace the actor. Worked with the first Canary.

The whole Lazarus pit/no pit, chest wound/guts wound smacks of a change of direction at the off-season writing team catch up tbh

Also, remember it's WB pulling the licensing strings. There may have been a set built (as mentioned), there may have been scripts written, but if Zack Snyder read a mid-70s Ras story in November and decided he wanted an ancient Demon's head in affleck's 2020 movie, then Lazarus pits are off the table, my friend.

It would be funny one of the shows strong points (being pretty much a 'not batman' batman story, using some of the good not-AAA villains from across the dc stable ((after misusing or killing off all of green arrows good villains in season ****ing 1))) turned out to be its end because the DC movies locks them out of the good content.

Characters I can understand to an extent, but blocking them from having a lazarus pit for a movie 6 years away is stupid. Its stupid even if it was 1 year away, but I think u might be right coz whats happened makes no sense at all.

Wasn't there some recent talk of Tyrese Gibson trying to get the role (for the DCCU)?

I like Tyrese but honestly can't see him being a good Stewart - I see more of a Hal Jordan (at least going off his Fast and Furious work).

I'd like someone like Idris Elba (if he was interested) and they definitely wanted a John Stewart GL in the movies.

With Barry Allen being on the Flash show, I think some fans are hoping that The Flash they cast for the movies is infact Wally West.

That was just him basically begging to be GL. Put up a picture of himself on facebook or something like that, no rumour or anything like that.

I have no idea what just happened in this last page, but if Thea doesn't work out that Ollie is Green Arrow then she's an idiot.Surely she's gotta realise Ollie return occurs at the same time the arrow returns. And as if she doesn't know what's in the basement of the club she owns, c'mon.
 
I wonder if they pick up the Atom as a show, if they will move to having Ollie tell the world he is Green Arrow. I wonder if they will ever use that arc on the show, They could also have Ra's expose his true identity this season.
 
I started watching this before Christmas holidays last year and loved it, pretty much caught up by the time the second half of season 3 returned.

I have really enjoyed it, some flat spots. But Arrow v Deathstroke was gripping, Arrow/Flash crossover was great, i hope they do some more in the future but not overkill. The mid season finale was epic and hoping to see more of Ras al Gual. But will agree the return of the arrow was a bit weak, felicity is to soft these days and laurel becoming canary so quickly is laughable, but understand they have to fast track her progress. Surely diggle would be better than her when taking on the bad guys. Looking forward to seeing the progress/introduction of Atom.
 
I can't tell if shows are just better when I binge-watch, or whether this has just taken a big dive in terms of quality.

Well, I think everyone will agree that that episode was a huge step up.

Laurel still as annoying as ever.
 
Thought it was pretty average tbh. I feel that Ollie's reveal was a bit weak and anticlimactic. At least next week looks good with thea and ollie vs slade.
 
Not a bad ep in terms of some big reveals but kind of felt a tad underwhelming. The show needs a few big "holy s***" moments - hopefully starting next week with the return of a certain character.

from nextweeks promo, it looks like because Merlyn told them to go there and overcome fear that somehow he let Slade out and they will have to find a way to beat him.
 
I think this is the start of that familiar ramp up we have seen in previous seasons. They tried to do a nice little self contained arc around Oliver missing and it fell short. Not through poor ideas but just poor implementation.I think when we look back over the season and those 3 eps they will nearly feel separate from the rest of the show.
