The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority has completed its investigation of the AFL and NRL, the body's chief told a Senate hearing on Wednesday.

ASADA chief executive Aurora Andruska said the authority was now reviewing the evidence it had gathered and developing briefs.

Ms Andruska said former Federal Court judge Garry Downes would review the evidence to determine whether it was sufficient to take cases forward.

But she said Mr Downes' work would not hold up the authority's work, and it would continue to prepare briefs and could issue show cause letters to players and take matters through the Anti-Doping Rule Violation panel and other tribunals while Mr Downes completed his review.

Even in a best case scenario of no infractions to players or any staff, the ASADA report is going to be very, very bad for Essendon.

That said, it looks like Danky boy is getting infractions regardless. And Dank was an official Essendon employee for a long time.

I'm at a loss to understand how you can complete the investigations without speaking to Dank
Not really, if he isn't going to talk, he isn't going to talk.

Police investigations don't necessarily do much interviewing of a suspect if he nabs the lawyers; if that happens, you have to decide you have enough evidence to charge him and force him to commit to a defence in a court of law.

Well, if they can't make Dank talk, they have to decide if they have enough to lay the charge and force him to fold or show.

The very best outcome is Dank charged, Dank appeals and all of the dirty washing comes out in court. Much waste product hitting oscillating device

Thanks for that. Makes sense. I was just assuming Asada would use their new powers to make him attend an interview.

Maybe Dank made some legal threats that scared them off. Either way this will be very interesting
