i rate smith, just a fantastic kick, emphasise that, it's hodge/buckley like penetration. Whoever says he gets his own ball is not entirely correct in my view, thats his weakness he doesn't commit his strong body to the contest, he really could be a take no prisoners ball winner if he did, however he is a stand offish predator, who can go, but doesn't consistently.

There's a difference between saying he doesn't commit to the contest and that he is naturally outside.

Farren Ray doesn't commit to the contest - Daisy is just naturally outside. Ash Smith is more like Daisy than Farren Ray, on the scale.

i never said he was outside, its just sometimes your left wanting more, and when i say that i mean that if you got that he'd be a top 10 certainty. It's more that he is a predator who watches the contest then choses when to go, i think he has one of the better frames for under 18 level and he could really impose himself on the contest, win the ball and deliver with his fantastic kick, instead he tends to watch a contest without overly committing, wait for someone to fall over or the ball to spill then go.
your correct much more like daisy than farren, Ray sleeps with the lights on, smith is definitely not soft, its just if you could coax that bit extra out of him, he'd be a real star
