Round 5, 2008 at Geelong, in a game Geelong won comprehensively by 42 points - 16.18(114) to 10.12(72):

1 vote - Joel Selwood, 20 possessions, 7 inside 50s.

3 votes - Gary Ablett, 35 possessions, 3 goals, 9 clearances, 20 contested possessions. Basically slaughtered them.

But 2 votes went to Adam Goodes. For these dazzling stats - 14 touches and 0 goals. The umpires must really like the way he runs.

Yeah- you could just tell he was destined to get an Aussie of the Year gong at some point in the future, couldn't you??
