Attention Old Punks - A question.

I am currently listening to the "Tales from the Australian Underground" compilation (which is great by the way). And I've just noticed something. I say only just as I never paid much attention to this band before in the past.
Am I going crazy with old age and bitterness or is the opening riff to The Riptides "77 Sunset Strip" identical to The Buzzcocks "Boredom"????
Never was a big fan of Mark Callaghan and somehow I feel strangely vindicated after hearing this again.
