Before the ball is bounced today, I just want to say a huge "Onya!" to every single Big Footy poster I met yesterday at the Great Northern Hotel in Carlton North yesterday and indeed every Freo fan I've met here in Melbourne. You guys and girls are the best. I've been around lots of fans around the world and honestly, I don't think I've ever felt more welcomed by any other community of sports fans. It has meant so much to me, you can't even begin to understand and I am so proud to be part of the Purple Army. We are the AFL's best fans. Period. We are loyal to the end, faithful, passionate and hardy. We are dreamers. And we've come today from all over the world to help our boys help make our wildest sporting dreams come true. So let's keep calm about today's game, trust Coach Lyon, but take our game to a level beyond our imagination by making so much noise that our 18 men on the ground have no doubt whatsoever that we stand 100 percent behind them. Those of going to the 'G today, let's all lift and be that 19th man and woman, turn the tables and give Freo a home ground advantage at the 'G. Who would've thought? Let's make the dream a reality. GO FREO!

Is this your first time in Australia, Gil? Pretty astounding dedication to get here from the US, especially without the typical 'homegrown' attachment to Freo.

Hope you enjoyed the best city in Australia at the least – and luckily Carlton's one of the nicest suburbs! Someone should've walked you up to Optus Oval and pointed out where many a Docker victories were... uh... lost, and where many losses were frustratingly seen.
