Obviously AFL recruiting managers didn't rate him nearly as highly as the internet "experts" did - Not only was he there at #52, he fell to #66 -

Only 5 players were drafted after him. Obviously we didn't rate him much.

Am i missing sumthin or are did we just miss a prime opportunity at pick 52? i dont get it?
Recruiting managers know more than internet people. Maybe he is as good as he will get or has attitude issues. who knows. But all 16 clubs let him get to 66 so there must be something wrong.

Yeah but i wouldnt always trust them. They let goodes, hird, davey all thru! It seems to me they dont like him coz he has short arms and fails to spoil on occasions and maybe his pore kicking. As for JA > AL then thats fine but why cant we have both?

is anyone else ********ed off that we didnt get muston at 21?

He was the bigfooty hype player of the year, no doubt.
Surely Xavier takes that award!

Key defenders always slide, despite probably representing better value. Clubs seem more concerned with mids and forwards.

We got our key defender. Defence ain't our problem!

Also the more defensive players including taggers are often overlooked, it is probably because it is not too hard to tag/defend young underdeveloped players with underdevoloped bodies. This is unless they have outstanding attributes (see Drum). Gayfer was my example not because him and Lucy are similar players but Gayfer was expected to be gone by 3rd round but didn't get picked up at all, like Lucy, Gayfer was one of the best tall defenders in the competition.
Not saying Lucy is a dud, but tall defenders often are often overlooked because of certain conceptions (misconceptions often).

speaking about crap defenders. What was TEX walker doing out till 3 last night? Dont they train on Sundays? If i was MM i would set a curfew on him so that he has to be in bed after the simpsons

Well when you have to harvest a new graft from somewhere else and get rid of the old one, that is a reconstruction!
Have a look at the Hawthorn website. Muston's operation was referred to as a 'revision of the graft', translation, he's had another knee reconstruction. it's like knee reco are dirty words which in football they are. Do you think anyone fell for Hawthorn's spin?

I'm pretty sure they don't train on Sundays and anyway if they do they probably cancelled the Sunday session since they are having a special training session on Tuesday.

Yeah i dunno i think they just re-worded it to sound more pleasant! Having had a knee reco before i know that when they say they had to harvest a knew graft it means that they are replacing the one they used in the previous operation. I dunno where i heard that from so i could have miss heard i dunno... but im pretty sure he had another knee reco!

just because it isn't a scheduled training run doesn't mean he wont do something off his own bat

he may hit the weights, go for a run, swim, bike ride.......or actually have a rest day like ur supposed to when training ur body

by the way why cant footballers be allowed to have a life??? who cares if he was out at 3am on a december weekend, plenty of people dont head out until around that time anyway

I just dont like him i guess. Profesional athletes train a whole lot more in europe so i figure they should do the same here. You are right about them probably doing stuff by themselves.
