Avatar Help

I cant seem to make an Avatar. I have tried a lot of things. I also need a good pic (the ones I've been trying are lousy) I kind of want something that moves. Please Help.

Get Paint Shop Pro 7 from JASC www.jasc.com and get the Gif Animation Shop that comes with it. (60 day trial).
There are other animation suites out there as well that are for free, can't remember the URL's atm but.
