AVG 8.5 slow down prob

Downloaded it last week after the requests re 7.5 closing down updates and it seems like no coincidence that the whole PC has slowed down immensly.

Sometimes IE wont open for 2-3 minutes.

Anyone else got issues?

Is there sthing I could disable in AVG 8.5?

theres your first problem, switch to Chrome or Firefox.

Ive got it asnd i havent had any issues? although i updated from 8.0 to 8.5

Get rid of AVG, such a poor AV program. But don't take my word for it, read the latest independent AV Comparatives report:

I would strongly suggest you to use Avira instead. I've been using it for a couple of years now and nothing gets past it. Bullet proof and best of all it's free!

I just downloaded Avira last night thanks to your recommendation and it does seem a lot less bloated than AVG. The update file was also quite small in comparison to AVG updates.

Hmm interesting, I was just talking to my friend today and she claims that her BT downloads have slowed since upgrading to 8.5

Also, take a look at avast. I made the switch and haven't looked back.
I never really thought AVG was bad though. Just wanted to try another one and Avast I believe is better.

Yeah had avast for a few years would recommend it.
