Now that Johhno's injury looks like being at least 8 weeks, its time to upgrade either Ballard or
Smith.
I believe Mundy needs to return to the backline, and a Mundy replacement needs to be found.
Does anyone have any other ideas? Who else can play down back?

Yeah that's a great idea - send our second best midfielder to the backline.

There's too much panic in this forum right now. It wouldn't surprise me if the only changes on Thursday will be Johnson - OUT, Spurr - IN. Maybe Mzungu will come in for Sutcliffe/Sheridan/Crozier. That'll be it.

Nah it's more or less the height that's a factor. A. Pearce will need to come in, and I'm sure Mzungu can do the rebound role. Mundy can continue his midfield/floating back role.

Spurr should come back in, we all want The White Man in, and then 3rd Pearce for height and experience. So who goes out (other than 1st Johnno)??

We really missed MJ's distribution from the back that sets up so many of our plays and Mundy would be a great replacement. Maybe rotate he and Clancee for this role. Alex Pearce needs to come in, though. He's got a good ten weeks of opportunity that's just presented itself.

People are under estimating the influence of Johnson. He is our best defender as does much more than defend.

Will be interesting to see who steps up and takes his role.

I actually agree that Mundy would be the ideal person to go back. He is actually fairly tall but it is more his distribution out of defense which could be used as a weapon, much like what Johnson has. He was also trialed in this position during the preseason.

We have some strong performing midfielders who could then fill Mundy's role.

Very unlikely, but it would be how I go about it rather then throwing Taberner or Mayne down back.

It isn't panic stations but an aggressive move. Plus Mundy would have some leadership credentials to marshal them.
