Our backline is in major S**t lol with no thornton, jamison, walker or houlihan our backline looks to be very unstable. I honestly dont think that we will even go close to beating freo next sat due to the fact that they have been playing some really good footy but just cant hang on until the end of the match and they usually beat us all the time anyway. Oh and they also have sandilands while we have Ackland lmfao. If he doesnt get dropped and if either hampson or cloke dont come back in then we are totally fcuked:thumbsu:

If I was Ratts, I would go back to the following. Play the following talls in the backline when they are fit:

Thornton
O'Hailpin
Jamison
Bower

Move Waite to CHF, and this starts to solve our problems at CHF. Also, now that Bower has really stepped up to AFL level, we are now getting his run out of the backline, which is one of the main reasons why Waite was moved back in the first place.

Makes us look, and feel, like we would be far more dangerous up forward, and Jammo can now hold down FB, which really does release Carlos and Bower to the half back line.

I think our backline has held up well considering our experienced heads in Thornton, Walker and Bannister have been out injured.

I think we need to persist with Waite at CHB. He is one player that has struggled when given a different position each week. Let him learn CHB properly.

Yep. Let's not go for the panic button after one ordinary week.

Doesn't Waite solve some of our problems in the forward half. He's certainly a better option there than Fisher.

I'm not sure I'd agree he's a better forward option than the Fish. Neither of them kick accurately for goal when we really need them to.

I really don't think we'd gain much by having Waite at half-forward, and we would definitely lose a lot by taking him away from half-back.

If we wanna solve our problem at CHF we need to get NASA to whip us up some titanium hamstrings for Hartlett or get Sir Richard to personally knock on big Jonathan's door.

Taking Waite out of the backline IMO will do more harm than good. Leave him there and let him learn the position.

Fisher's conversion rate last year improved dramatically. He kicks more goals than he does behinds. We all know that Waite's kicking for goal is one of his weaknesses.
