How good are these guys, even without the likes of Parker and McPharlin.
I mean the players down there are either late picks or rookie listed players. In other words their nonames yet there standing tall and playing exceptionally.
Hadrill is either the top of second top defensive mark taker.
Polak is right up there with Hadrill as far as defensive marks go.
Woods and Hayden are just brilliant on the ground and clearing the ball.
We have a forward line worth millions yet a back line that would barely break the 200k mark.
Hayden,Polak,Woods and Hadrill you are the reason for our teams sucess.

Yep, we got killed in the clearances but still won comfortably because of the drive the backline provided the whole game. Give it a year or two when guys like Polak and Haddrill get a bit more bulk to be able to match it with the gorilla forwards and we will be very hard to get past.

Haddrill rocks! I remember the Rd 18 game in 2001 when we beat the Hawks and thinking that Haddrill has got to be one of the best marks in the AFL if he can keep on pulling in the marks he did in that game. It took a while to reproduce (due to injury) but his over head marking is sensational.

I doubt Jones will get another game unless there is injuries.

Our back 6 would be Woods, Haddrill, Hayden, Parker, McPharlin and Polak with Grover coming off the bench.

McPharlane has grown 3cm since last season & apparently that was causing all his problems. Hopefully he will be back in round 11-12

We are building a dynasty with mostly local rookies.

And still with Webster, Gilmore, Dodd & Mott on the rookie list.

Webster and Gilmore are going to be good. :)

& the way things are going we may well yet have 1st crack at Mathew Moody whom BTW bagged 4 for South u19 on the weekend and was BOG !!

Yep hopefully he will be back in Freo colours after the week break after Round 11.

Much like last year when he returned around that time, and played great footy for the rest of the year. How good would he be with a full pre-season behind him.

With our current ladder position it doesn't look like we will be able to get him. Besides, he's more of a utility/flanker than a true midfielder. In principle you should always go for the best player available but I'd say what we lack is another tough, skilful, pacy midfielder.

Think we also lack a tough inside midfielder. Someone who can get the ball at stoppages. Someone like Coughlan.

Maybe Coughlan will have a nice yarn with his good buddies Woods & Haddrill this week & talk about things like how good Freo is these days and stuff like that

Lenny Hayes or Coughlan would slot very nicely into our lineup. Both fit the criteria nicely and both are around the same age as the majority of our players.
