Bad Beat/Vent/Brag thread

Speaking of straights, I've been beaten twice in the past session on PS with premo pockets (KK and AA) to a gunshot on the river.

I can deal losing to a flush or trips, or a open ended straight draw on the river, but losing to a guy who has 26 off going all-in preflop is just insulting.

Yeah, and they took some of mine. I at least kinda respect the guy who had a gunshot and went all-in at that point when I had KK.

But they guy who went in with 26 off, won with a lucky river draw and then decided to taunt me afterwards just pissed me off.

I guess the consolation is that I end up handsomely up after the night, and have the lulz from Mr AAAA to make me laugh.

Anyway back down in stakes for me for the time being, time to grind my way back to form and out of the bad beats and dead cards.

Also played a spin n go where i got it in with 88 vs 44 HU and he hit his 4 on turn

[The Prosecutor]

Witnessed perhaps the unluckiest run of consecutive hands I've ever seen at pub poker on Monday night.

First hand, our hero had QQ against the villain's JJ. All the money got in pre-flop, with the villain being at risk.

FLOP: 10 10 10

TURN: Q

RIVER: 10

Result hand one: Split pot

Second hand, our hero in somewhat ironic fashion woke up with JJ, and again, all the money got in pre-flop with the villan in this hand holding A10 off. Our hero was at risk.

FLOP: Q 4 7 rainbow

TURN: 2

RIVER: A

Result: hero is knocked out after being on the receiving end of a one-outer then a three-outer on consecutive rivers (could've been less as I don't know if anyone folded an A).

He took it well considering, though his walk for the door was brisk.

 

[Happy Daze]

^ ^ Just went out in a satty where I was chip leader, 10 players left, 4 paid, flat payout structure obv, first hand villain shoves ~ 7 BB with A8dd from CO, I call from BB with A9o, flop is 9,10,10, and I lose to runner runner. Next hand KK in the SB, folded to me, I make it 2.5X to induce, BB shoves with AQ, flop is pure, J hi, turn a Q, river a Q. I'm left with 5 BB after having 25 BB two hands before and I bust soon after.

Those types of runs of hands happen reasonably frequently in tournaments, especially turbos/hypers where players are forced to make plays with non-premium hands, its just that sometimes a 65 - 80% starting hand will get beaten and sometimes it happens a few times in a row.
