Gossip is he is an absolute tosser!!! Who cares who he is raping for money this year cos i couldnt give a crap!!!

Thought a thread under this title may have appeared earlier. Will be interesting to see where Harbajan does line up as many have indicated on BF in the past he is extremely money driven.

I will second that... dont know him as a person, but if he were playing at my club I would make him pay us.

A mate of mine played with him and said he was a pretty good bloke.

It's clear that he is playing for money but have you ever considered he could be as dumb as a post and now is his only real chance of setting himself up for life after footy?

maybe Griffith will finally get their chance to have him in 06.

Balranald sounds like the club for him

Could someone explain the Balranald/Griffith references here?

Balranald has gained a reputation for paying big sums of money - and many here on Big Footy are of the believe Mr. Singh plays football purely for financial gain.

I think Doona might be refering to Chris Dunne doing a runner on Broadford midseason to get back on the coin he had earnt the previous season.

They all pay ridiculous amounts up that way....farmers with too much coin and not enough premierships!

A mate of mine was offered $1500 a game there and about 5K sign on plus a fuel card, he ended up declining the offer to play better footy:thumbsu:

Okay - I wasn't sure if it was a reference to 'da erb' (due to the Griffith reference) or money.

Not at all Junkie, I've had a few mates head up there & my comment had nothing to do with Dunney more the large sums of coin they throw around. I dont entirely agree with what Chris did but I wont hold it against him either - at present I have no allegiance to the BFNC and still get along well with Chris regardless of what others think.

Singhy isn't a bad bloke, and as someone else said football is pretty much all he's got, so he has to make the most of his ability.

I think the reason he changes clubs each year is so he can attract his annual sign on fee. Not much chance he will stay on with the Cats this year because he has the opportunity to get the same money but also attract that extra $3k to sign on.

He probably won't return to Griffith and I'm not sure that they want him back.

He found the city to boring and to far away from the Metro Nightlife. Thats why he settled for Mooroopna in 2005

Who would want Balraj back - from what Ive heard he would be run out of Griffith if he turned up there again - burnt a few too many bridges!!!

He is a troublemaker and a mercenary in my opinion and very overrated - not what my club wants anyway!!

That's the exact point, mate - a club with good administrators who try and "build" successful teams by nurturing their juniors and recruiting quality people to their club (who aren't mercenaries and who are likely to stick around for 4-5yrs), should be applauded. Clubs who look for a "quick fix" and try to "buy" success or premierships are the one's who are destroying country footy. Balraj, or Vijay, or Harbahjan or whatever his name is, can't "make" clubs give him $ - the club first has to offer it to him. There should be a concerted effort by all country footy clubs to stop spending ridiculous amounts on blokes who only care about $, don't train and only stay one year. It's absolutely ridiculous..

Couldnt agree more with your sentiments. Thats why I worry about football in the Goulburn Valley clubs spending ridiculous amounts of money on imports who whilst playing football are not putting anything back into the town etc.

It seems like in that competition especially the money being spent by clubs is part of the "keeping up with the Jones's theory" and is not sustainable for ever. Will be interesting to see what happens in the next few seasons.

It seems to go in waves, I suppose. I can understand why clubs do it, and I guess if they're prepared to do the work to raise the $, or are lucky enough to have some big sponsors, fair enough. But at least the players that Euroa and Seymour have picked up have stayed 3 or so years, are reasonably fit, top players and good blokes. Doubt Mooroopna think they got value for $ with Balraj...

Even so, take a club like Girgaree, for example, this year. They had a fair amount of $ and spent $15K on their coach, who is 40-odd, not proven as a coach, and likely to leave as soon as the $ dries up. Surely Gig would have been better, at least in the long term, to maybe play a bloke to coach the seniors AND help the club in junior development or something similar, or just worry more so about encouraging juniors in the area to play at thier club in the hope that they get a majority of them to stick around and play senior footy for them..

Here here Mr. Perry, agree 100% with you mate

He arrived here in Griffith to much fanfare; Played one blinder of a scratch match; Showed good form, was set up with a decent job, and after a week, (As previously mentioned...) Left Griffith, labelling the town boring...As also mentioned; He's burnt a lot of bridges here; But, late last year there was an article in The AREA NEWS saying he was looking to a return to Griffith, and was apologetic for the way he'd left town...

I'd be of the mind he'll never be welcome back at the Griffith Swans, after such a fracas...They're a typical NSW footy team, who against other codes and sports, who battle along each season.

It would seem to those involved here in Grifffith that Balraj was solely chasing the best football dollar he could get.

Shame really...apparently he's got a lot of talent that would've gone a long way here in Griffith and RFL...Oh Well...
