Have just read the threads about Jordan Bannister and feel that his problem is the same as many others on our list. He is highly gifted but doesn't appreciate the gift for what it is.
I believe that he has a victim mentality that sees him crack frequently when the pressure is on. If things are flowing his way then he is a very good and strong footballer. As soon as things go against him he loses self belief and becomes undisciplined.
Once again he is not on his own. Players like Campo, Norman, Scotland, Fevola are just a few others who can go the same way. If these players could be truly reached then our fortunes would be much brighter. I don't know where the blame lays. Obviously the players themselves need to become more mentaly stronger but the coaching staff also need to reach them on a deeper level.
Players like Wiggins certainly are more grounded characters but don't seem to have the gifts of some of the others mentioned above.
Until the gifted guys become emotionally strong I would give the Wiggins type players preference every time.
