As an eagles supporter, i watched the game with little interest, just to see if i got my tip right ;)

Let me say that you guys played very well and really shut down Freo... good to see that Sabres comments of one of the best 'in and under' teams proved wrong again :D

Anyway, im not here to bag sabre, but to say that you guys have a star in James Bartel (i think thats his name??). He impressed me heaps and looks to be a quality player in the making. Also, how could i not notice Ablett Junior?? Looked very very good and composed for a youngster with so much pressure on him to perform

Great win, i tipped you guys :)
 
I have my doubts with Foster.

He seems to play very well when Geelong are winning and when we are getting beaten Foster's opponent has a field day.

Amen to that, on White. Bartel, like the other Cats youngsters, keeps getting better and more confident on the ball with each and every game he plays.

It was good to see Mitch get a game. I'm a fan of his and I feel he was criticised a little unfairly last year because he didn't have the impact the fans thought he would. But he struggled with injuries and I hope he shows what we know he can do.
 
Iceman,

How nice it is to get some positive feedback from an oppostion supporter. The bagging that goes on in these boards is really too much at times, so it really is a pleasant surprise to read some unbiased comments from an obviously intelligent person :)
Good luck to your team also. They certainly do seem to have turned the corner this year. Can sypathise with you also, you finally have a coach who has some passion for your club. We had to endure many ordinary years under the arrogance of one G.Ayers (self confessed career coach - couldn't give a stuff about the club, so long as he gets his way and gets another gig down the line), so I feel for you having to put up with the inept coaching performances of Judge.

Daniel Foster has been great this season and has really come on and has basically taken over from Tim McGrath in our defence. I said at the start of the season that if our kids were able to force their way into the side through good form, that is where Geelong will get it's improvement from and that looks to be happening. :):)

As for young James Bartel, my Dad said a couple of weeks ago that he looks like a young Mark Bairstow with the way he plays, only James Bartel is more in and under than Mark Bairstow used to be. He has been fantastic so far, and here's hoping Mark Thompson looks after Barty so he doesn't burn out early like Spriggs did in his first season.
