Pretty safe to say we can pencil in these bands for BDO 07

MUSE
TOOL
JET
DALLAS CRANE
ESKIMO JOE
BUTTERFLY EFFECT
LOST GOSPEL
EVERMORE

Mainly based on what JJJ are flogging ATM

Any other rumours or confirmations out there for local or int bands?
Should be a decent (improved) line up this year.

Never assume with the big day out

That's assuming there is even going to be a BDO!

Big Day Out searches for way in
Patrick Donovan
September 21, 2006

NEXT year's Big Day Out festival in Melbourne is in jeopardy, with organisers yet to secure a new venue only two weeks before it announces the line-up and ticket sales.

The festival was held at the showgrounds in Ascot Vale for 13 years before it was forced to move because of renovations. Last year it was held at Carlton's Princes Park.

While the organisers have secured the Flemington Racecourse carpark for 2008, it is seeking assistance from the Victorian Government and the City of Melbourne to find an appropriate site for January 2007.

"We're in a spot of bother, and we're hoping it will be resolved," said co-organiser Vivian Lees.

"We asked the Melbourne City Council and Carlton residents if we could go in as a one-off for this year, and now we're asking if it can be a two-off.

"We staged an excellent show there last year, with minimal complaints. The audience loved it and sports players were back there a week after. But it is not a long term plan for us.

"We've got a very exciting line-up for next year and it would be a tragedy if Melbourne fans missed out."

Each year the event attracts about 45,000 people and employs almost 3000 staff. The 2007 show is expected to be headlined by Tool, Muse and Jet, while the Eagles of Death Metal and Gnarls Barkley have also been rumoured.

Mr Lees said the State Government knocked back a proposal to move the event to Albert Park, and two other possible venues, Calder Park Raceway and Sandown Park Racecourse, were considered too far away.

They could always move it to Hobart, we'll find a paddock to host it....:D

Apparently the killers have let slip in an interview that they will be down for BDO.

Electric Six is pretty much confirmed. WIll be down in Aus in January, and want to play BDO.

So its LIKELY the majority of

Tool
Muse
Electric Six
Killers
Jet

Been hearing some strong rumours about Audioslave but i cant see BDO really affording that many more big acts.. Will be interesting.

There are plenty, but My Chemical Romance were in the news recently about that...

Ok, so if I don't actually tell people the bands, I'm technically not doing the wrong thing...if they guess correctly, all I can say is ;)

Sounds like an awesome lineup if the rumours are true. Saw Muse at Thebby Theatre a couple of years ago, and they were fantastic. Reckon they'd sound even better at BDO though.

Actually from what I remember they had a really **** sound when they played BDO last time. Hope someone does a much better job at next years.

I'm only interested in Muse and Tool so far, anyone else announced that I like is a bonus. Unless they play the mainstage or more than 4 hours before Tool, I wont be seeing them (assuming Tool close the main stages).
