Jeff,

Please feel free to continue posting articles from your website to the WCE team boards but as the new ruling says, It's either the whole article with a link at the end or nothing at all.

Cheers!

I just want to make it clear that I did not make this decision nor has this decision been directed at you. The facts are Bluey has made the decision that any stories printed must come in full with the URL following. In the past there have been some other users who have been overstepping the mark in what they have been advertising which is a shame since it's had to come down to this. Please feel free to take it up with Bluey (bluey@bigfooty.com) if you have any questions/comments :)

Eaglesflyhigh,

I just read your post that said

It is in my interests to encourage people to visit my site, and it's much quicker and easier to copy and paste the first paragraph with the link then to put the whole thing in again here.

In all honesty I think you have clearly said there that the reason for your post is self interest and not the sharing of ideas, thoughts etc with others. I would therefore agree with Bluey's decision.

EFH - Surely there is a point where the article is written BEFORE it is marked up in HTML? If not, you can also just open the site, drag your mouse over it, copy the text and dump it into a message here.

By way of demonstration, here is the article copied straight from http://westcoast.rivals.net/ - keep in mind this took me literally 8 seconds to accomplish. EFH, let me know if you want this text removed due to copyright restrictions.

Eagles Look Better, But Still Not Good Enough

By Jeff Scott
Date: 26/5/2001

The Western Bulldogs comfortably accounted for the West Coast Eagles at Subiaco tonight. Although the Eagles were a much improved team on recent weeks, they showed that they are still some way from being really competitive against the AFL's top teams.

Western 2.4 6.10 13.15 18.17 125
West Coast 2.4 4.4 7.5 11.11 77

Right from the start of the first quarter it was apparent that the Eagles were here with a different attitude to the last few games. They showed a lot more commitment to the ball, were manning up all over the ground and looked like they meant business.

There were a few different moves tried early, with Glen Jakovich and David Wirrpunda starting the game in the forward line. The bench was used constantly in the first term, and it appeared that the slightest deviation from the team game plan resulted in a spell on the bench and a phone call from coach Ken Judge.

During the second term the Bulldogs began to dominate the game. The loss of Richard Taylor after a heavy bump was a blow to the Eagles, as he had been one of the keys to the midfield in the first quarter. Although Ben Cousins again racked up more than 30 possessions, once Taylor was gone he lacked the support to mount a consistent attack.

The Bulldogs innaccurate kicking kept West Coast in the game, however, and had it not been for some basic skill errors by the Eagles the half time score could have been much closer than 18 points.

The second half saw the Eagles lack of consistency and experience exposed once again, as the Bulldogs stretched the lead. An inspirational captain's goal from Cousins coming on the back of the first ever for Travis Gaspar gave some heart to Eagles fans, but the Dogs responded and took a lead of nearly fifty points to three quarter time.

By this time the Eagles man-on-man game was starting to fall apart, and once again it was clear that they simply weren't as good as their opponents. Some of the basic skills were sorely lacking, with simple marks being dropped all over the ground.

But at least they showed a willingness to run the game out this week, and finished off with four goals in the last term.

Best for the Eagles, and arguably best on the ground, once again was Ben Cousins. Dean Kemp had another good game also - the stackhat appears to be giving him the confidence to play at his best again. Rookie Daniel Kerr and Chad Morrison were also solid performers.

Troy Wilson was very quiet at full forward, and spent a fair bit of time on the bench. Wilson has been suffering from flu this week, had only four possessions and didn't kick a goal until seconds from the end of the game.

Concerns remain over Taylor who didn't return to the gournd after his early knock, and Drew Banfield, who hyperextended his right knee in the third quarter and didn't take any further part in the game. With three players this year already needing reconstructions, the last thing the Eagles need is another senior player out for the season.
