Freo trio closer to AFL call-up

Fremantle Dockers' defenders Roger Hayden, Alex Silvagni and Tendai Mzungu could return to the AFL sooner than expected after completing a training session.
Hayden (foot) was listed as being up to nine weeks away from resuming when the club released their injury list earlier this week, while Mzungu (knee) was quoted as at least four weeks away and Silvagni (groin) up to four weeks from a return.
But coach Mark Harvey said the trio was close to rejoining the main group at training and could return to playing duties soon.
"The best part about you guys being here is you can see that these guys are getting closer," Harvey said.
"Once they start running like that, they join in training quite quickly and then they play.
"The fact that they're out there running suggests that they're getting closer.
"It'd be Mzungu, Silvagni and Hayden in that order (for a playing return)".
Harvey said midfielder Michael Barlow, who suffered a horrific broken leg last season, had resumed kicking drills and was also nearing a return to full training.
Defender Greg Broughton (hamstring/back) is expected to return for Saturday's clash with Richmond at the MCG.

I was at the open training session and though Silvagni and Hayden looked ready to go

Silvagni moreso than Hayden - Mzungu had a slight limp

Alex was in some of the main groups training

Just quietly, watching set-shots Kepler didn't miss any - Crowley and Pav both missed quite a few - Palmer was pretty good at shots on the run around the body as well

Barlow ??

Barlow only made an appearance to do autographs - he came out of the rooms bare-foot

Morabito looks incredibly fit - looks in far better shape than Mzungu and Barlow as far as his legs go - Zu/Barlow both have stick thin legs whereas Mora looks solid (also might have a lot to do with his build as a player)

for some reason, pavs goal kicking is worse than i've ever seen from him this season. any one with any theories? he's got something like 15% accuracy so far.

Translation: "Damn, now you guys turned up we have to put our real injury list up"

pretty simple really.

Unlike us he would of known he would be playing in midfield 95% of the time.
So he hasnt done much work on set shots.
So during games he cant just go back an do what hes been doing in practice as he hasnt done it enough to find the rythym.
Plus he is so stuffed from the midfield role his concentration isnt as great.
Also due to tiredness his arms will be moving around more on ball drop.

So basicly tiredness/concentration

what would be grouser than grouse would be if we can get mzungu, barlow, silvagni and hayden coming back so they build up their match fitness by the second bye. then in the third part of the season, everyone can be up and firing heading into finals. my god, we'd have a chance.

Harves is happy with our work up to now but with the a few best 22ers on the cusp, you blokes on the block better get in some top games and make it as hard as buggery for those blokes to get back in. A quiet rocket to a few perhaps who he hopes to get a bit little better level of performance out of. 8-1 beckons fellas and it'll be these blokes now who'll do it then the restof them are going to have to show their worth. I like it, a bit of tension for places.
