New single to come out on third man records (jack white's label)
There are a few samples available on the third man site.

Very hopefull that these sessions beck did with JW will make a full LP and that these 2 new songs are just teasers..

Beck has not had an LP out since modern guilt (2008)
But has been busy with plenty of soundtrack songs or producing. Or that record club album covers thing.

The samples are short but there seems to be a real relaxed country vibe to them. Sounds very loose and the humour seems to be back, something that has been lacking from his stuff in a while. We could get an album similar in vibe to mutations (one of his most underrated and strongest imo) :thumbsu:

so yeah, super happy that one of my fav artists of all time is back:)

His high point was the B-Side to Loser called 'MTV Makes we want to smoke Crack'. Swinging little number. Too bad he's a scientologist.

high point, really???
you avin a laff?

Definitely prefer the Mutations and Sea Change side to Beck than the Odelay side.

I realise I may be in the minorty on this one though.

not really actually.
plenty of fans rate both albums. mutations being extremely underrated (he pretty much ignores it live..which is strange)

Top Level
Midnite Vultures/Sea Change/Mutations/Odelay/The Information

The information has really grown on me since it was released. Songs like Movie Theme, Strange Apparition and the epic The Horrible Fanfare/Landslide/Exoskeleton are some of his best stuff.

No, I'm with you. Mutations is a gem, and Sea Change is a great "poor me, I busted up with my girl" album.

One of the very best. And I'm not a massively huge fan of the guy. That album is the balls.

Loved his 'Record Club' series as well.

And as for this....

Could be the best thing he's ever done.

Controversial, I know :)

HA! I used to love Beck up until midnite vultures, sea change made me excited and then flatliners.....
an under appreciated artist and musician of his time that ****ed himself up with wanting to much pop for his weasel. truely do love mellow gold and odelay, under apreciated albums.
