Here on tonights channel Ten News,

Judd nearly broke Callum Chambers Beep Test record

Does anyone know what the record is, what Judd got, any other standouts, what the youngsters got etc etc...

For some reason I have a feeling that the record is mid 15's. I'd guess at 15.7.

Pretty sure Matt Rosa got 15.3 at the beginning of pre season.

Even though Judd did that well, Rosa actually did better cos he came first again....

Interesting that Judd is gonna spend all his time resting forward now instead of the bench... shud cause a few headaches.

Damn for Matt Rosa to get in the 15's at the start of Pre Season shows obviously that he is willing to work hard. :thumbsu:

Which is why im touting him as the next big thing, will win the rising star next year in a canter if he is given a crack, Ive never been as impressed with a youngster as I am with him, gonna be the next Chris Judd dare I say.

I haven't really seen much of Rosa. Hopefully he is given a good go next year. I heard he was similar to Embley?

I am sorry Embers but that is ludacris. I do rate Rosa but I dont think he will ever be a in the top bracket of players. At his best, possibly along the same profile as Braun.

He has his flaws like all players do his age, but the improvement in him is amazing, if he continues along that path for a year or two I cant see why not, definelty a AFL player, he is a player i struggle to find a weakness in, which is why I made the Judd comparison

P.S Sumich spoke bout the forward line, he said Judd would spend alot more time there and he is tryin to improve his markin, Smith is on track for round 1 too

I agree in the improvement thing. And he will improve even more when he adds more weight. He has too queries 1) His pace off the mark isnt great so he wont ever be explosive away from a pack. Not a massive problem. 2) Although he finds alot of the ball, he is still pretty outside. If he can improve those 2 aspects of his game, he will be a fine player. He has awesome work ethic, endurance and willingness to learn.

Sampi - 8's

That must have been whilst chasing a HJ's voucher that was blowing away down the street, right?

This year is taylor made for Sampi to actually achieve something, so God help us if he doesn't.

15's is that brilliant. Im a 19yr old female who plays hockey and am a full time student and obviously am not a professional athlete and I get 13's. Would expect for a AFL player for that to be a lot higher than that.

Belinda Clarke, former women's australian captain, got 17.5 once.

Me - 7's
Sampi actually only got 8.8 because he did the Beep test in the Draft Camp with OP..
I would expect Inzamam Ul Haq to get more than 8.8 in the Beep Test :p

Sampi got 8.8 because he is lazy and lacks dedication when it comes to maintaining his fitness during the break. He has always been the same and will never change.

The West had Judd down as 15.13 (i think from memory)

Chambers record was 16 flat, just 1 level above Judd.

i heard shane crawford has the highest ever beep test recorded anywhere and it was like 19.3 i think....theres old stories about ppl running out the tape (21 levels) but they can't prove it

tests are just numbers depending on the sport/ position. no reason for a lightweight aerobic machine like a female hockey player not to run that score! bballers (pt guards) n middle distance athletes would score high too

i may be a new poster but i do currently play afl at a fairly high representative level in 16s and am a regional sprinter. there is not a chance a womens hockey player attained that level at level 17 if done properly (the beep test is sposed to be held over 20 metres) this women would have to be running around a 3 . 4 - 3.3 second twenty metre sprint after having already done the 20m run well over a hundred times in a row with a very short recovery... sorry but even most olympic athletes would be struggling to achieve that pace

Yep, no way in hell if done properly

An it wasn't even a hockey player she was talking about - it was a cricketer
