I posted this on the general board, but figure all the brainiacs are here, so I might get an answer.

I opened Yahoo messenger tonight, for the first time for about 2 months & was logged in as someone I have never heard of.

This has happened to me with BF, but the first time anywhere else, question, is it a probem with my IP, or is someone using my computer while I am at work?

Most likely the later, somebody has used the PC, logged in as themselves and the computer has set a cookie to remember them for the next time they log in.

Use the time wisely and flame some people! They will teach them to be so careless.

It is possible (although extremely coincidental) that someone else logged into bigfooty, on your computer. If you are on a network in the same domain as others (i.e. all users), then this is likely.

If this did in fact happen, then the bigfooty cookie stored in your C:\Documents and Settings\Mantis\Cookies or C:\Documents and Settings\all users\Cookies folder (assuming you are using MS-Windows) has been overwritten, by the last logged in user. This cookie stores information, used to log you in without actually requiring your username and password. To fix this, all you will need to do is logout of bigfooty and log back in using your real username/password and the cookie will again contain your information. As a result, you can visit this site without having to manually login, since you are magically ;) logged in anyway!
If you are interested you can read the cookie at:
C:\Documents and Settings\Mantis\Cookies\mantis@bigfooty[1].txt (that is assuming your user directory is Mantis)

I cant see how this could be related to the ISP!

I agree, what better time to start a new thread entitled "I am gay"

No Suzi, this happened on my home computer & I am not with IPrimus.

I suspect Jim Boy is right, because I have had the problem on BF before, as have others, just never had it happen, or heard of it happening to anyone else on Yahoo messemger before.

Time to pay a visit to someone & give them a whack on the side of the head.

Oh ok. It could be your ISP then which ever one you are with. Some of them are a bit dodgey. Unless a family member of yours has played a bit of a prank on you.
