Hey Guys,

Thought this may be of interest to some. Darren Jarman's son Ben is eligible father/son to the Hawks this year, but he's also eligible to the Crows as well. Below is a profile I drew up on him, we'll have weekly rolling updates on Ben in the SANFL as they come to hand over at footyprophet.com.au.

Ben Jarman
Height: 175cm, Weight: 68kg, DOB:
Recruited From: North Adelaide
Position: Midfielder

The son of dual Adelaide Premiership star Darren Jarman, Ben becomes Adelaide’s first eligible father/son in the clubs’ history. Although Ben also qualifies for Hawthorn under the father/son rule too, with Darren having played a touch over 100 games, which included a flag. Jarman has been playing football for North Adelaide, having won a MVP nomination in the Colts competition after a 28 disposal, 12-clearance effort against the Eagles last year. Jarman’s disposal efficiency can be iffy at times, and he still has to improve on aspects of his game, but the midfielder bagged 20 goals from 16 matches last year, and on 12 occasions was named in Norths’ best. Jarman finds the footy with ease and has a great footy IQ.

Off to Adelaide I suspect

Not necessarily! A few people I've spoken to think he wants to get to Melbourne and play in AFL Heartland.
He'd better fix that iffy disposal efficiency then;)

Can't see him nominating the Hawks imo but none the less it will interesting to see what kind of a player he develops into

Thanks for the write up mate. Always good to keep an eye on such things. Interestingly it's not the first whisper I've heard suggesting Ben may be interested in a move to Melbourne. Will definitely have a look the website.

His dad had impeccable disposal skills as well as freakish (or Riolish) skills at dispossessing opposition players. I remember many a pass lace-out down Dunstalls throat.

Were they... um (to borrow from Bruce)... caressed? :$

One of my favourite players at the time. Loved the way he'd run down the wing at VFL Park at full pace then suddenly kick a low long range pass at 45degrees (every thinking WTF?) and hits a hawthorn jumper. Had impeccable vision and skills.

Agree, with some that there's perhaps little hope to see Ben in brown and gold, but then again who knows. Crows are possibly heading towards some good times which may be more enticing. If he's half as good as Darren would be worth chasing him.
