There are a few rumours around that Benny may come to Collingwood to help our sh*thouse ruck division (you can all rejoyce in your club's instrumental role in that!).

Just wondering, do you guys think he is good enough to play for at least another year? Was he a victim of the cap or is he going downhill rapidly?

Whilst it could be another Richmond-Collingwood ruck debarcle, I think his "kick behind the play" style would help us in defence as well as at the centre bounces. I personally want us to get him, as anything would be better than McKee!

And, I am sure you would all love to see him in the BLACK AND WHITE also!!!

I certainly thought he had at least another year left in him. Are you talking about him as a player or a ruck coach at Collingwood, because i thought he said he wouldn't play for any club other than Richmond when he retired.

I think he said he wants to play on, if someone was interested in him. I think we are.

We need a ruck coach anyway, so either way he will be of great benefit to our club IMO.

You'd get AT LEAST one more good year out of him.

Speed is not an issue for Benny, because he is smart enough to be always heading towards the right place anyway - very good at reading the play.

The only problem would be leap, but he is physically strong enough to at least partially compensate for that.

He would be a better option than anyone else you've got at the moment (assuming, of course, that you want to play Fraser as a forward).

Anywhere except ruck!

He is still thin and was always a forward at the Bushrangers. I am sure he will be a ruck in the future, but as it stands he is just getting killed and may get hurt.

What is it with us and reject Richmond ruckmen??? I think Benny would give us great service and as seen last year, if we are competetive in the ruck, we more often than not win. Thus Gale could be a major contributor to Collingwood making next year's finals!!! That would be sweet.

Figjam, i think he'd find it tough to go another year, but he has a heart of gold, so anything can happen. If he has some sort of motivation to stick it up Richmond for whatever reasons, he could prove to be a bonus for you. But who knows, he's carried a lot of injuries over the years.

It's gonna break a lot of hearts if he does play for you. But i wish him well with whatever he does, because he's given everything he has to the Tiges, and I don't begrudge him if he does go to thePies.

He's played 243 games and almost all of them have been either in the ruck or at Centre Half Forward. Both these positions are the hardest to play in terms of repetitve collisions.

I think at some point his body is going to scream "enough" and his retirement will be swift and sudden. When this will happen is not known. He may be able to go on for another couple of years, but may also crash early on. This is the risk that Collingwood have to take.

If I was Benny, I wouldn't risk my good name having the possibility of being added to a list that includes such luminaries as Steve McKee, Brad Smith, Robert Schaefer and Matthew Francis!

Ahh well, looks like Stunning Steve McKee is going to have to steer us to a Premiership!!
