Gary Neville did. Goater scored.

I suppose that would be the highlight of the life of any City fan.

Hence the reason why I reckon it was the best match ever.

Too young to remember the 5-1, eh?

Thanks to my old man's extensive Video collection i have seen the Maine Road Massacre.

Aussie born David Oldfields Double still has nothing on Shaun Goaters Double as he is a City Legend!

Also I think the 3-1 stands more in my mind because u bas*t#rds were up the top end of the premiership and it was a must win game for us while in 89' they finished only 1 place ahead and all that was at stake was bragging rights.

Derby Day and the score was level
When the Goat was fed by Neville
Silly boy, should know for sure
Feed the Goat and he will score.

:D:D:D

The thing about that game Shinners is that for the first time in a long while, I got the feeling that we were truly back in the big time. To see a City side comprehensively outplay United was something that for a long time I (and I am sure many others) doubted I would see again.

The Gillingham playoff game, and the 1-0 against Birmingham that effectively sealed are promotion to the premier league in 2000/01 are the other two games that stand out for me. I can enjoy the 5-1 now, but to be honest I didn't have much of a clue about the game until several years after I started supporting football. I can imagine much fun was had at the time by those at the ground anyway.

I'll lend you my copy of the 5-0 if you want. ;)

And every black cloud has a silver lining.

It was the game that turned our season.

From chumps to champs. Thank you City.

Not sure if Moomba remembers, but I sent him a message before the 3-1 game saying that I had an awful feeling that City would take the points

Qualifying for the UEFA Cup by the fair play rule is not "truly back in the big time".

There was a Celtic v huns game a few years back. A heap of the boys trudged off to The Angel Tavern to watch it.
Pure Madness, it was back in the days when the huns had it well and truly over The Hoops. Celtic managed a win, it was utter chaos in the pub. Have you ever put your head under a beer tap and just let it flow ?
